I agree with you Will. I just ordered LPU 3.0 in September because the CD was crap -- the shirt was pretty good, but I'm not a big fan of blue. We'd better get some damn good shit this year since the guys are in the studio.

    I agree.

The LPU 1 package was fantastic. The shirt was awesome, the CD was amazing (best LP CD if you ask me) and the random shit you got was pretty cool. LPU 2 was pretty nice since we got some B-sides, but the shirt was a complete and utter letdown. I don't even think Mike had anything to do with that shirt. LPU 3 was all right, but the CD ruined it. It was the most unoriginal idea I've ever heard of. I still don't know why they cut those tracks off the CD portion of Live In Texas anyway. That was stupidly pointless. So now we're at LPU 4. The shirt looks promising, as the design of the site usually mirrors the design of the shirt. The calendar will be awesome. (Glad I didn't buy one like I was planning.) And the wristband and poster will be an added plus. I just hope they pull off something amazing for the CD. If they don't, I won't sign up for LPU 5 unless that CD is awesome and the shirt rocks.

If I renew, it'll be the first time that I've renewed "when I'm supposed to". I signed up for LPU 1 right as it was ending, and signed up for LPU 2 right as it was ending. (So I was in year one while everyone else was in year two, and in year two when everyone else was in year three.) Then in March I upgraded to LPU 3 because the shirt looked awesome. So if I renew now (or when my account expires in 10 days) it'll be the first time that I'll be on-par with anyone else in the Underground. I won't feel weird anymore. (Though I still won't go to the site; I can't stand the message boards - way too many teenies run rampant there.)

I hope the wristbands are LPU wristbands. And damn...that CD better kick-ass. The mods on LPU say it'll have live and exclusive material but bah, what do they know?

I agree with vampire on being ashamed if you are an existing LPU member and asking for tracklisting on lp fansite. Im sure you are allowed to ask at th LPUMB if you already a member.

But im still kinda fussy about the tracklisting being kept secret for non-members. Imean i wanna become a member but without knowing the tracklisting i dont think ill ever become a member this way.

I see it as a marketing scheme really. You have to become a member to know what the tracklist is. And if the tracklisting is terrible like LPU3.0 CD was then people are gonna feel ripped off for paying good money. Imean lets face it half the reason of becoming a member is the underground CD.

Iam so glad i never became a member when LPU3.0 was out. :wth:

I don't honestly see why people should be ashamed of wanting to know the tracklisting because it's obviously gonna get out sooner or later. As soon as someone gets the package, everyone on LPU will know. With the 75,000+ members in LPU, odds are just ONE will spill it to the rest of the world. Even if they don't, someone will sell the LPU 4 CD on Ebay soon enough. It's impossible to keep a secret, I don't see why they even try. I don't see why you have to spend $25 on something you don't even know what it is. Having to pay for the privelige of knowing something is stupid. That's like paying for a hooker without making sure she doesn't have an STD.

How do you explain the people who signed up for 2.0 then? They didn't know what was on the CD but went for it anyway.

Overall, I think people make a big deal out of the CD -- I know I do, but it's not ALL of LPU. I renew for various reasons: friends, tickets, package, meet & greets, etc.

At least it's not like The Used Nation where all you get is a letter, a sticker, and a pass.

Well I wasn't in LPU for 2.0 so forgive me on that one...but as soon as the first LPU launched, they said we'd get a reissue of the EP. 3.0 it said "the rest of the tracks not on the Live in Texas CD." 2.0 I could forgive them for, because 2.0 and 1.0 were both excellent CDs. But after 3.0 being such a disappointment, I just feel they need to give people that were disappointed more of an immediate incentive to renew. LPU isn't all about the CD, but most people are going to look at that first to decide whether to go for the $25 it costs them to get in. I mean, OK if this is how they'd normally do things, forgive me, but...it just seems to me they need to do more to get people to renew right away. :wth:

Yeah, after 3.0, I have low expecatations for 4.0's CD. Like I said earlier, 5 bucks says it'll be the rest of the audio from the LA show where they performed with Jay-Z.

does the CC DVD just have their performance with Jay-Z or does it have the rest of the show as well? If not, then Vampire was talking about the rest of the show.

I believe the show was solely for Linkin Park/Jay-Z songs, and there was nothing else.

I joined the LPU when it was 2.0, basically just to get the CD. I'm probably never going to sign up for it again unless it has good CD tracks and I can't find them on Gluz.

I'm acting like an idiot? Because I'm trying to protect the LPU exclusive content? I highly doubt it. I'm being a faithful LPU member.

To hellflame Prophecy, I was telling you that if you're already in the LPU and you're asking for the tracklisting, you should be ashamed because LPU members know better. Then I said if you're not in LPU, then sign up and wait patiently for the package. [/b][/quote]
People shouldn't blindly purchase something if they don't know the contents of what they're getting. Many people will buy LPU 4.0 once looking at the shirt and tracklist. Now, in my case, I don't care what's on the cd, because it'll add to my collection. Giving out a tracklist isn't like letting them hear the new songs, therefore we're not really spoiling anything for anyone, in fact we would be further enticing people to buy the package if we gave them the tracklist. We, as LPU members, shouldn't be looking down our noses at other non-LPU fans. It doesn't mean we're better than them, it just means we like new things more than them and are willing to pay.
