Eminems new album Encore was released today (in the UK i dunno about anywhere else). What do you guys think of it?

I feel Em rushed this album a bit, just to please his fans, its a little maturer than his last album, but it has the same feel to it that hes tryin to get people to take him seriously, i only like 2/3 songs on the album at the moment, ill give it time though, my favourite songs are "Like Toy Soliders" and "Mockingbird"

In my personal opinion it's crap. It's vulgar in the non-witty way. The only songs I could seriously sit through without getting bored were "Like Toy Soldiers" and "Mockingbird". Like Toy Soldiers has an ok wannabe Kanye West beat. Mockingbird is a good "I love my daughter/My ex isn't that bad" song. Everything else just seems... less mature and thought it. After hearing Lose Yourself I was expecting some great lyrics. Just Lose It is the worst single he's ever had in my opinion. The production on the rest of the songs is bland. Give me a drum machine, and about 3 synths and I can make those beats. I don't want to buy it now.

In my opinion... the artists that have suddenly turned to political lyrics in protest of Bush (Beastie Boys, Eminem) just suck now. Eminem's CD has the same problem as the Bestie's "To The 5 Boroughs". Bad self-produced beats and (compared to past cds) pretty weak rhymes.

Oddly enough, Just Lose It is the cleanest of all his first singles. The only things censored are 'nut', 'ass', and the change from "child molestation" to "child investigation".

Haven't heard any other songs 'cept "Just Lose It". And I think it's a good song. The video is also good--really funny.

i agree that the video is funny, wonder if michael jackson liked it. but who doesnt take a mickey out of him these days? fame does make you kind of public property of you open yourself up for it, this kind of mocking follows.
i havent heard the rest of the album, so cant really say much 'bout that. but having heard some comments here i wont bother 2 buy it.. i dont really like it when people make music just to please their fans (=to make money), i dont think being anti-bush sucks. athough whoever would be in power wouldnt be much different, they are just poppets, its the poppeteers that are the problem, and since those are behind the scenes, being anti-bush yeah, doesnt make much difference, but neccessarily does not suck.
