I found an interesting paragraph on what the Catholic church has to say about Homosexuals. I got the paragraph from a book called "Pure Love" (about Chastity, which cover topics like, "Is homosexuality a sin?", "What about masturbation?", "What about safe sex?" ect...)

This is the last paragraph from the Homosexual section of the book:
While it's not a sin to have homosexual temptations, it is a sin to indulge in homosexual thoughts or actions. This may be hard to understand today, because society tells us that sex equals love and that it's fine to seperate sex from creating life. However, God designed the sexual act for a sacred purpose. He joined love-making with life-giving, and what God has joined, no one must seperate. When we understand sex for what it is--a reflection of God's life-giving love--it becomes clear that same-sex unions cannot reflect this. Members of the same sex can reflect his love by doing what is best for eachother, but the sexual act must always be ordered toward giving life.

I know the paragraph had more to do with homosexual sex than homosexual marrage, but it also talked about Homosexual acts. And gays getting married is a homosexual act.

So, I guess there is some truth in what that paragraph is saying, but I think it's unfair that homosexuals can't enjoy their lives and become a family like other people.

I'm not gay so I'm still pondering on my decision if gay marrage is wrong or not. I personally don't find gay marrage wrong, but after typing out that whole paragraph and reading that whole section about the whole homosexuality thing, I've been thinking more about it.

A simple definition for "chastity" is not having sex until you are married. ..or something like that.

    That is bullshit.

Another reason to love Canada, same rights for homosexuals as heterosexuals. Why are there so many stupid people in the US.

IMO, not supporting same sex marraiges makes you a bigot. What are you going to say next? Interracial marraiges are wrong?

    I don't know Glenn...

    Agree.

What REALLY annoys the hell out of me is that people seem to think that any sort of discrimination is the littlest bit ok as long as others are doing it too. If all those civil rights movements hadn't happened, and racial discrimination was still allowed, I bet we'd be arguing whether we should allow people of color and whites to share the same drinking fountain...some people would say STRONGLY SUPPORT, others would have the nerve to say OPPOSE. But the pressures of society just doesn't allow us to do that anymore, because its been deemed "uncool" and "ignorant."

Take slavery, even. I bet if someone who didn't think twice about enslaving people two hundred years ago was born today instead of all those years back, they would think slavery was wrong just because society has now deemed slavery as wrong. Whereas two hundred years back, he would have been buying slaves himself because it was just a normal thing to do .

    Cheers. :)

Honestly, if you've got the nerve to oppose gay and lesbian rights, then you've got the nerve to oppose racial and ethnic rights.

Racial and homosexual groups are still minorities people.

Why is it my black friend can marry her caucasian fiancé, but I can't receive the same sanction with another woman?

    It's bullshit.
