This just blows my head off. We cant say anything about the foreign people or else we'll get shot. I can't believe that people do this.

It's really terrible all of this. I can't believe a person who speaks his opinions has to end his life this way. He had very strong opinions, but to kill him is not a way to handle. It was a Muslim who shot him for his opinions against the Islam. I think the effect of this event had a negative effect for the Islam in the Netherlands. It only causes people to dislike the Islam even more. I have nothing againt Muslims (if they're not terrorist or something like that). But tons of Muslims don't believe van Gogh had to be shot for his believes.

The discussion about free opinion, freedom of religion and discrimination (don't exactly know how it's said in english but you get the point) has begon again... When is something your opinion and when is it discrimination? What IS wrong or right? You can't really say.

All I know it is not right that this had to happen. I'm shocked!

Yes. Because he made a movie againt the women unfriendly texts in the koran.

They interviewed some kids at a school in amsterdam of something like that. A lot of moroccan studends said he could have seen it coming and it was stupid of him to made a movie againt the Islam. One even said he got what he deserved. But you don't kill somebody because he isn't agreeing with you??

The headmaster of the school said she would have a word with him... But then my mom said if Theo van Gogh can say such things against the Islam then that kid is also allowed to say he got what he deserved. Because it's freedom of speech. It's strange... but when I thought about it I had to agree with her....

It was freedom of speech, but in the law you cant discriminate other people or religiouns. But killing someone is bad also.

no, it is in the law to discriminate someone, but that doesn't mean that you can't say what you think.. you have to say your opinion..

makes me think about something else... what if someone shot chester or mike becouse he said he didn't really like muslims??

what? you can say what you want, as long as it isnt discriminating/hurting a group/culture/person.

It's true that you're free to say whatever you want, but being a bigot only makes someone more likely to get his face punched in.

Well, what would you do when someone calls you a fucking whore? Just walk away? Id beat the shit out of him. But pulling out a gun is really useless and people who do that need some serious help.
