Ok...this is only something I've heard from other people I know in America...so if I'm wrong please correct me. Also...this could get pretty contraversial...so if it gets out of hand...It'll be closed... Alright...you know this whole war on iraq...this sort of links into it. I've heard that "French Fries" have suddenly been renamed to "Freedom Fries" 1: Is this actually true? 2: If so, why are they doing this? 3: What good is going to come from it? 4: Are they trying to discreetly annoy/boycott the French because they are VETO-ing on the Second resolution? If it is true...then what I want to know is just a plain and simple... "Why?!"
It's true. Kinda like during WWI when they called the burgers/hot dogs Liberty Sausages and things like that. I think it's pathetic because it makes America look very childish. I wouldn't say discreetly boycotting, more like really out and the open. And I live here in America, too.
i heard that somewhere.. its kinda stupid. arent they doing the same thing with french toast or something?
My friend showed me this the other day. I forget what exactly it said but it said something of this manner: All disputes will be settled in a non-violent way keeping the safety of the countrys And that is a UN(not US, UN) law, now how can Bush yell at Suddam for "breaking a law"(Still no evidence) when hes about to break a UN law by declaring war? Bush, is just, stupid. Plain and simple. Impeach him.
He hasn't done anything wrong to be impeached. Besides, he's allowed to declare war on a country on his own will, but if he wants any support from the United Nations, he has to get permission from then. That's the only way he'd be breaking a UN law.
I wouldn't call him stupid.... .... ... Alright I'd call him something else...but that's not the point. I just don't get why they are becoming so petty about fries...and even toast?! What is it trying to do? Make America all patriotic on itself? trying to make itself bigger than everyone else...trying to p**s off the French?! I don't get it!
"trying to make itself bigger than everyone else" what do you think America has been trying to do since it was born?
To tell you the truth...I don't know...since I'm not american...and I'm slightly biased because I'm half French...so If I've said anything that offends anyone...then just tell me and I'll take it back... If you're saying that the French are strict...then you're pretty wrong mate
The reason why they are having this huge controversy about calling French fries and French toast to Freedom fries, and freedom toast is because the French are being ignorant and not supporting the Americans. If you remembe back to WWII when the germans pretty much took over France until the Americans came and saved them. So now the Americans think that the French should help them out since they saved them back in WWII.
Yeah that's a good point... but maybe France doesn't want to help in a situation that shouldn't really be happening without the required evidence....

Not to offend anyone here, but I think a lot of countrys are stupid. America helps them if they're being attacked or something, then they dont help out America when we need help. P*ssys.
