Not to bash Ashlee or anything, but... Who else saw SNL last night? Methinks this has 'Busted!' written all over it...
They have a video of it at www.funnyjunk.com in case you would like to see. I wouldn't say she got pwned though. Kinda like: sound equipment > Ashlee Simspon once again I'm not trying to bash her either.
Yeah, the video is all over the net. And then she had the nerve to say the band played the wrong song. Busted! Maybe now her fake ass will be taken out of the industry. If I owned her CD, I would send it back to the record label and demand a refund. I wouldnt pay to support a fake with her fake music. Hillary Duff is next
Well her vocal track came on before she even put the mic to her face, then she danced like a moron, as the voice track was turned down, and the band tried to play over it, but you could still hear it. Then she just walked offstage.

You can tell when someone lip-synchs because they sound perfect and she NEVER sounds perfect.

I'm going to defend her and offer a possible explanation. Sometimes in big shows like the VMAs or TV concerts, a vocal track will be laid behind the artist to make it better. The artist will often sing the main parts while the song continues behind them (take Usher's VMA performance for example..he barely sung.) I think the vocal track was cued in way too soon and thats why she was disoriented. She never lipsynched on her MTV series, so why the hell do it now?
True, true. But you know what's dumb... they played the wrong back up track. She had ALREADY sung 'Pieces of Me'. What's up with that??

If only I could have seen this. I agree with Derek's explanation. "... a vocal track will be laid behind the artist to make it better..." But it's not like she dances around like Usher or even Britney Spears for that matter. She tries to act like a "rocker chic" when she obviously isn't.

You dont play up the realness of your music, and then fake sing on a nationally broadcast live television show. You do it by dieing your hair black and wearing spiked bracelets.

Being young allows you to make mistakes, she apparently made one last Saturday. Maybe she should write a song about this, it could be called "My Mistake".
