    Yes.

The only reason I curse now is cause I always heard everyone curse in 3rd grade. So I've been cursing since then. [/b][/quote]
Exactly..I think censorship should be censored itself...its utterly pointless....

they censor a lot of things that kids are gonna find out about, but kids who are overprotected from that stuff are naive and are gonna get ***** up by someone. If parents talk with the kids and tell them that something is wrong and how it can harm you, they won't do it, but if the parents ignore all that stuff and when the kid sais: hey, what's a ****ing blunt? can I try it? and the parent punishes the kid for something he doesn't understand, he is gonna try weed or something 'cause they'll feal grown up. Parents should talk with their kids, 'cause kids are not dumb!

I agree with that. What bothers me the most is when parents try and censor all sex from there kids. I don't mean when they're young, but when a kid starts to hit puberty, I think they need to at least have a vague idea of what's going on. You don't want them to hear explicit sex lyrics, fine, but don't try and pretend it doesn't exist when they're learning to deal with raging hormones and their peers suddenly getting flirty.

Plus, kids hear "bad words" anyway. Me and my parents (with my brother occassionally coming into the room) were watching a movie awhile ago, and someone in the movie said something about "Kicking someone's ass" and my six year old brother thought that statement was just hilarious. So he said it a few times. Instead of freaking out and making it a big deal (kids of all ages--yes, us too--love 'forbidden' words) my parents completely ignored him, and he forgot about it and hasn't said "ass" since.

Yeah censorship in video clips really pisses me off. I'm tired of shows cutting some of my fave clips, its really annoying.

I agree, the people who are censoring material are getting a little out of hand, like I was listening to Eminem a few days ago on the radio (satellite radio if that makes a difference) and they had taken out the word "trunk" but left b**** in there...

I think all censorship should be taken out. The thing is, swearing and nudity are kept away so much that people want and crave for it more when its censored and will re-enact the same language to seem cool or some dumb thing like that. If its just some average everyday thing its not such a big deal, little kids are going to grow up and learn these things anyway so why bother that much? Its not the TV's fault when children do what they do and shoot up schools entirely, its also how they are raised and if they come from a "broken home". If the parent plays an active role in the development of the child then they wont look to TV as much of a guide.

Sorry if any of this has been said already

I don't think curse words should be censored, they are just like words with meanings like everyone. Naked people on T.V. shouldn't be censored either. For example, if the show is rated MA, then it is for matures, the TV Network should trust that only matures watch that, cause it would be pointless if you censore nudity in a MA rated show. Unless the show is a cartoon where accidentally the character drops his clothes or something like that and it is rated for younger than 10 years old children. It is just dumb.
