Even though I hate Halloween, that is fucking stupid. I hate religion.

That's rediculous. Christ's day is every week but Holloween is only once a year. Jeez.

My town has officially moved Halloween to Saturday night.

I could give a ####. That just means that I can stay out longer at the party I'm going to, since my curfew on Sundays is 10 PM, and on Saturday its Midnight.

"You go to church on Sunday, you don't go out and celebrate the devil. That'll confuse a child."

wtf? further proof that many adults are idiots.

theres nothing wrong with halloween, highly religious people just take "satanism" to the extreme. my friend's grandmother wouldnt let her read harry potter books because it was "the devil". god, its just ridiculous.

That's just a bit too extreme.

Halloween is a chance for kids to dress-up as either their tv/movie/etc. idol or as a really f'in scary creature. And it's a chance for them to get candy. Don't play around with it. People like that have to realize that their religion is not the only religion around. You don't see religions of Asian origin protest because America doesn't count by our years.

"You go to church on Sunday, you don't go out and celebrate the devil. That'll confuse a child."

Response: "You have Halloween on October 31st, you don't go out and change it because it lands on a Sunday. That'll confuse a child."

I fail to see how Halloween has anything to do with the devil. Sure, the devil is a common costume for halloween and evil dark things can be sometimes associated with it, but it has nothing to do with Halloween itself. That's just the over-commercialized version of Halloween. Halloween is kids dressing up as whatever they want, and going trick-or-treating. They don't worship satan for doing it. I mean, kids also dress up as the powerpuff girls, power rangers, teenage mutant ninja turles, superman, batman, spiderman, and many other non-evil things. This is religious extremism to it's ultimate high of idiocy.

I agree completely. I even wrote a post about it in my xanga.

Kids are smart these days. They don't think "oh let's worship the devil and celebrate halloween," they think "sweet! Let's go get some free candy!"

Most of the public these days never really make the connection of Halloween--->Devil. It's mostly Halloween--->Candy or Halloween--->Commercialized. Just like Mother's Day *coughHallmarkcough*

put it this way, there have been many other times where halloween has been on a sunday. what makes this year so different? halloween is meant to be a creative time for kids to see if they can "scare" the adults. unless the catholic religion believe that a child dressing up like a ballerina is the equivalant to the devil, then that's just not right.

Agreed. I don't celebrate halloween but that is ridiculous, irrational and unfair on the kids. The devil is in no associated with Halloween these days. Some people are paranoid and don't know how to lighten up and let their kids have a good time, its sad.

The problem with religion is that everything they don't believe in, they deem to be evil. Religion is a bunch of biased crap.

This is stupid. You can both go to church and trick or treat on the same day. Halloween is fun, not evil.

I just got an idea! If anyone lives around that town, get as many people as you possibly can go to trick or treating in that town (whenever those morons have it) and dress up as devlils and witches

They're debating that here. Dunno if they've decided to change it to Saturday or not, but most of the Moms I know are very pissed off because they scheduled Halloween free to spend with thier kids, not the day before.

And I'd love to Todd, but I'll be busy watching Green Day live on Halloween :-D

Halloween really doesn't have anything to do with the devil.

Halloween = All Hollow's Eve = Pagan Harvest Festival.

But some Christians think Pagan = Wicthes = Devil/Satanism
