Cold have set "And A Sad Song Lives On" as the tentative title to their new album which they will begin pre-production on with producer Michael 'Elvis' Baskette (Chevelle, Iggy Pop) on October 14th. The group plan to begin officially tracking the effort by the months end and hope to have it all wrapped up by December, with a release early next year through Atlantic being planned. The group are also making tentative plans for a tour in January as well. For more on this, check out www.extremecold.org.
Sweet. I liked all of Cold's albums except for the first one, for some reason. 13WTBON was awesome, as was YOTS. Can't wait.
awesome! hmmm i heard that they broke up. did they get back together or did that not happen? but anyways i'm looking forward to new stuff
Elvis Baskette, the guy who's producing this album, also produced Chevelle's latest two albums (not only 'This Type Of Thinking...) and Three Days Grace's self-titled! !
Cold is also a band in which I really love the lyrics. The musicality of each song is also just great. Not to mention the distinct voice of Scooter. What can I say, can't wait for this album. To Mark's Post: as well.
Agreed. The lyrics are so full of depth and emotion. It's really an aweing (sp?) experience to listen to YotS.
Especially how YotS becomes more specific with the lyrics. I mean, before that, it was pain and suffering, but it was more general. In YotS you have awesome songs like Cure My Tragedy (A Letter To God) and Sad Happy that are so emotionally drenched and specific. I feel for the situation that Scooter is in (with his wife and the whole cancer bit) but it comes into really great music. Their music takes a more personal feel. This band has just consistently improved throughout the years. I REALLY cannot wait for this new album to hit.
