    According to recent reports on the LPU message boards about an LA Times article, Linkin Park and Jay-Z were taking their MTV 'Mash-Ups' collaborations into the studio to make a CD/DVD package. The combo, which includes studio sessions of the collaborations from a Roxy performance, and a documentary about the project is due November 30th.

    No photographic proof of the article was given at the time, but we've thankfully received a couple of screenshots of the online article from LATimes.com from a subscribing customer, Stacy. We've turned the numerous screenshots into one large file, so here's the first proof that the collaborations are indeed confirmed for a CD. The article is near the bottom of the image;

    Thanks to Stacy!

    I'm not either. I dont even really like Numb to begin with but I don't like any of Jay-Z's music so...it's just going to make the song even worse for me.

    Same. If this is LPU4.0, I'll be reluctant to sign up.

    I'm looking forward to this... it should be interesting. But it would suck if it was for LPU4.0.

    Despite the fact i said i'm looking forward to it above, i'm only looking forward to it in hopes there will be something new, like a song together that isn't a mash-up or anything. I'm not too excited about the mash-up's really, IMO it doesn't sound too good on paper.

    I don't think it's going to be just for LPU if it's featured in LATimes.

    I think the reason why the LPY CD's are below average is simply because if it's something amazing, the record company would rather make money off of it.

    They are making money off of it, because you have to pay to join the LPU. It may not be the same amount as a normal CD but they're still getting money for it.

    I cant wait to see the dvd too.....just hope that this is not a US only release. :mellow:

    BTW there is a new album coming out by Jay-Z and R Kelly sort of like a follow up 2 their "Best of Both worlds" album a while ago...meaning the best in Rap and the best in R&B coming together for an album.
    well i guess...this is sort of the same with the best in rap and the best in rock coming together :lol:

    Warner doesn't get any money from the LP Underground.

    The band does. They run the LP Underground independently.

    Well the LPU CDs are released through the Machine Shop label, which LP owns. To my knowledge, that would technically make Machine Shop a subsidiary of Warner, but I have no clue what bearing that has on Warner making any money through LPU.

    As far as Machine Shop goes, Warner is just the distribution label.

    If Linkin Park had tried to release Reanimation as an LPU cd, do you honestly think Warner Bros. would let them do it?
