Green Day has already chosen the next single from their number one album, American Idiot. They'll follow up their first single, the title track, with 'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams,' according to MTV.com. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said about the tune, 'It sort of deals with...alienation and disenfranchised feelings, but sort of singles it out to something more melancholy. I think that's the link between a song like 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' to even a song like 'American Idiot'.' Although the band will shoot a video for 'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams,' they would actually prefer to save the money and make a mini-movie for 'Jesus Of Suburbia,' the nine-minute track that's a centerpiece of American Idiot. Bassist Mike Dirnt said, 'It's a good rollercoaster ride and it shifts gears with lots of highs and lows, and if we could make something visually as colorful as the song itself--or not necessarily colorful, but that's a good ride--I think it would be really interesting.' American Idiot, described as a 'punk rock opera,' debuted on the Billboard Top 200 album chart last week at Number One--the trio's first album ever to do so. ----- Pretty awesome. Boulevard of Broken Dreams is one of my favorite tracks off their new cd.
"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" I think is my favorite song off "American Idiot," I'm like in love with that song.
