In High Voltage (any of the versions) they just say "hybrid" "akira" or "mix media" for no apperent reason. is it only there just to confuse me or does it actually mean something its probably like an inside joke or something
Hybrid is obviously from the name of their CD, Akira, I think, is another one of Mike's names, and mix media is just part of the lyrics.
Mix Media was the name of LP's independent label before they were signed to Warner. Akira is like some form of anime that I know Mike likes, he mentioned it in an interview about the BTH vid. There's a rumor that it's also a former MC alias of Mike's, but that isn't confirmed. Hybrid=Hybrid Theory, of course.
is there a reason why they are in the song though? they make no sense it seems like maybe they shouldnt be there
If you listen to other rap artists, they always give shoutouts during their songs, to their record label, giving props to each other, etc. Just Mike trying to be street or something.
Mix Media is also a form of art material, and Mike was an art student and Akira is a japanese anime artist that Mike likes.
No, Akira was a Japanese comic book (they call it manga), and they also made a movie for it (really popular). And I don't think Mixed Media (or is it Mix Media) is a form of art material, it was just their label, I think. And I think Akira was his MC name, too.

Same thing with the Mix Media, because I take art at school, and in the corner of the room there's a box labelled "Mix Media"
