Just as crowdsurfer said, its dumb just to release a few tracks, then go to record a completely new album. It strikes me quite funny that it takes them almost a year to write 35 minutes of music that is some of the simplest music that I know of. Ah well, I'm over it :chemist:

The tracks they'll release were probably already finished, with the band looking for an avenue to get them out there. Plus, if you only have 2 or 3 tracks, it's hard to make an album out of it unless they're like 20 minutes long.

Maybe we don't have to wait for a new album that long after all...

But a gut feeling tells me that it will be released on the LPU 4.0 CD

They've been saying this for a year, nothing really new. I just hope what they call "new material" is "new material" to us.

They dont have to release an album for a couple new tracks.

As someone said earlier, either the LPU4 CD or possibly a new song will be on a movie soundtrack

If I hear more of Meteora style songs, I swear i'll kill myself. They have so much potential (as we saw in HT) but Meteora was such a let-down.

Why is no one mentioning them playing their new stuff at PR, They could always play it on the last date of that tour. Then release it somehow, Afterall it was practically promised that people would hear new material at PR. Just a thought.

I hate you all, I'm so poor!!!!! :(
    ...
[remembers he has winmx... ]

    JK

    ...

This is extremely old, but everyone seems to like to torture me by posting about it...

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH METEORA  !?!??!?

Why the hell do you keep comparing the albums?! The only difference I see is that Meteora has a more complex sound than HT, which had simpler ones...They are both the same good!!!!!!!!!
    ...
And if you like one better than the other, it's your freaking opinion, but don't say meteora was a bad album, please, respect me as I respect you...

Everyone likes when LP releases new music, no matter where or how, and there are two reasons:

    1. We are not getting enough from their music. I hate to say it, but the band is so slow when making albums, that we do anything to listen to LP rare or new material; anything that they release we are gonna like it, is like feeding anything but food to a starving person, he'll like it...

2.Because LP's the best I've heard in my life :)

    Whoa, calm down.

'Meteora' wasn't a good album. The lyrics were bland and unimaginative (except "Breaking The Habit"), they stuck to the same verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus formula, there's no experimentation on the guitars. It was a watered-down wannabe-sequel to 'Hybrid Theory' that faltered in becoming an improvement on Linkin Park's musicianship.

I dont really care if its a new sound or not or if its like Hybrid Theory or Meteora im sure it will still sound great! If Linkin Park recorded it, it will sound great!

Ha. Meteora was in no way "more complex" than HT. Bland lyrics (people point out the impressive Runaway and Crawling lyrics for this point). The most complex thing about Meteora may be some of the samples, maaaybe the drums on Session (I can do that manipulation though) and the 6/8 time on FTI. Which isn't that impressive since other bands I like (NIN) do stuff in 7/4, 5/4, and 13/4 time.

I'm ready for some new music. Remixes or B-sides or whatever. If you're a fan why should you care about the holding the tracks til the album. The probably want all the album tracks to be completed DURING the process of making it. Not leftover from months ago.

I know the lyrics aren't as good, but they had been doing the HT songs for 5-4 years before the album finally came up... And you have to agree, Meteora sounds really good.

EDIT: I'm not saying that Meteora is better, I'm just saying it's good, because some people here really wish that that album burns in hell...

No, it doesn't. It's too formulaic and unimaginative.

Again, you saying Meteora sound sgood is your opinion. I'm giving my opinion.

But let's get back on topic.
