Linkin Park are still tinkering away in their studio in the back of their tour bus with new ideas including riffs, drum patterns, scratches, and vocals for their new album, but there's one thing that you won't see on the new album.

In a recent interview with MTV, Mike Shinoda denounced rumours of possible collaborations off-stage with fellow Projekt Revolution artists for Linkin Park's new album. When asked about the chance, Shinoda replied; "Our albums are what define us as a band, and they're what drives us to keep doing what we do and get us excited about new directions we can take. So we want to be 100 percent in control of those songs."

Linkin Park hit the studio to record and write a new album in October.

Sounds like a good idea to me... I'd want to keep my albums collaboration free.

October...cool...Might have a late spring/early summer release then.

This is a good direction to take in my opinion, collaborations should be kept for soundtracks, B-Sides & maybe a re-release of an album.

i think its awesome that this new record will be colab-free. i agree any colabs should be in a remix album or b sides.

can't wait for their new record to come out. i bet that it will be better than Meteora and Meteora is a pretty good record.

If I was in a band I would rather have my songs colab-free, unless it was solo material in which case I would need them... of course, LP aren't a solo act.

It sure as heck better be, but I strongly disagree with your point on Meteora being a good album.

It shouldn't be too hard to beat Meteora. Apart from a couple of excellent tracks, it was pretty average. However, I won't go on because this isn't the time or place.

I think they're better off without colabs and ####. Hopefully they won't do anymore colabs until they get a new producer and work on their song writing skills alittle bit more (let's face it: the songwriting could be alot better than it is, but it's fine right now, i'm just saying)

Oh well. I'm sure Korn's Head Like A Hole cover w/ Chester will show up on Kazaa soon. That should sustain anyone's "Collaboration Blues" if they ever want to hear something new.

    Or something. :wth:
