Y-100, Philadelphia's rock station, has a tradition of having a special countdown - the Top 300 Modern Rock Songs Countdown, to be exact - that they run over Fourth of July weekend. Linkin Park came in with quite a few spots on this list, with "In The End" beating out Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to take the top spot. Linkin Park also came in at #20 with "Numb," #43 with "Somewhere I Belong," #62 with "One Step Closer," #140 with "Crawling," #208 with "Faint," and #251 with "Papercut." Congrats to the band! You can find the full list here. Thanks to Rinkin for the news.
I listen to Y100 and I did hear about Linkin Park beating out Nirvana and I heard a lot of people were mad at that and bashed the hell out of LP. Oh well...
Nirvana tried so hard and got spot #2...but in the end, Linkin Park got the #1 spot. Congrats Linkin Park!
Yeah I was surprised they beat Nirvana. I really don't think Smells Like Teen Spirit is that great. I like Come As You Are and Heart-Shaped Box more.
Cool I'm always comparing Lp to Evanescence because I like LP and my sis ter likes Evan. Well this time lp has four songs (including the top song) against her one (bring me to life) at spot 121. Great job LP.
Wow, LP beat Nirvana...awesome. ...hmm...wonder what my girlfriend will think of this, her being a big Nirvana fan and a big LP fan too....lol
