Well, about what I think of the song...I just wanna say that I hope the entire CD doesn't head in the direction that this song went...

This song is ok, but it's definetly not the Linkin Park i've grown to really enjoy. When I figured out the song would be Chester dominated, I thought, "oh well, Crawling and Push Me Away" were both good...

But, this one...uh...especially the end...where the hell is Mike? I mean come on, the bridge (if you can consider it that) is bogus...it's just Chester screaming as if he's the only lead singer back in his old punk-rock days of "Grey Daze"...

The only parts I could bob my head too, or thoroughly enjoy, was when Mike's rapping blended and faded into the chorus...but other than that...eh...

I agree, I wish for more of Mike and for the song to be heavier instead of bein' like In The End style..... It's a good song, and it's worthy of goin' on my MP3 player but not what I hoped for...........

I dont quite understand what you mean by "where the hell is Mike". Sorry, but, I do believe Mike had 2 full verses. The song is actually very evenly split between Chester and Mike. And I think Brad's guitar playing was awesome on the song.

Well done to Linkin Park on one of their best songs i've ever heard.

I just noticed that the riff in the begining of SIB is pretty much the same

riff in the linkin park DVD. In the chapter "The Future" when they show

their recording equiment and computer in the bus, mike plays a riff that

him, Chester, and Joe made and its in SIB! We've had a preview of

    METEORA since 2001!

Yes, I agree. Brad's guitar playing is spectacular in this song. And the vocals are evenly split very well. I can't wait for the whole album.

1.) This song kicked! It was awesome!
2.) What do you mean by where is Mike? Like Chester_76 said, he has 2 verses...so what song are you listening to?
3.) Also..what do you mean by you "hope" the album will be harder? If you ever pay attention you might notice that ALL of the guys said it will be much better, also if you payed attention, you would have noticed that the LPA Staff put up a newspost on each song, and what it sounded like, and I believe that "Somewhere I Belong" was one of the same ole` Linkin Park sound. So You should have known..and most of the album will be harder.
4.) Congrats to LP for making one of the best songs ever.
5.) Thanks to the mods for the SONG!! OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH.

    Well..I've said my peace. :mike:

No offense to you or LPA, but...I make my interpretation of how the song is...not LPA...

We can both have interpretations saying the song is "this way" and "that"...but neither of us are officially right, and you can't say "LPA said this"

LPA is a great site, but THEY are gonna tell ME how each song is going to be interpreted by my ear lobes and my brain?

    No thanks :)

What was posted up was not guess's. They were done by a Journalist who heard the entire album.

And yes, Journalists get advanced "listenings" in order to write reviews and other things.

I agree , the song is an awesome song . The beat , the melody , the lyrics ( wich are kind of dull at some points ) . As for the guitar "playing" being "awesome" i kinda disagree. The riffs and chords brad plays in the song are awesome the playing is good but theres not a whole lot of originality in this song . But as brad said on lptv ( not sure wich one ) he said something like you dont have to shred millions of notes to make a good sound but you can simplify it and have just as good of an affect. And thats what he did . I think its an overall good song , its catchy , the more i hear it the more i love it. And at first when i heard the song it didnt have a big affect on me like i had hoped , but the more you listen to any song you start to realize smaller thing , smaller things that are put together to make bigger things that make a song , its just like a car , u see a car at first look u just see a car but after a few seconds you start to notice the wheels , rims , and any other specs or whatever. i really dont know how i got so far off subject ( or even if i did ) its late here and im tired and ive havent posted on a message board in about a year , so sorry for this short novel i wrote :p , you guys take it easy , oh and love the boards ( best design ive seen in awhile ).
