Because most of Incubus's material is longer than the standard 2:30 song... they do a little something called improv that many nu metalist don't have the talent to do

Truth, though. Partly. I bet most nu-metal types do improv, they just don't put it on the album.

I saw them at Manchester and half way through the gig they played a 10 minute long drum solo, then a short bass solo. So they might have done the same in japan and made it 2disk's to cut the solo's out in the middle.

Making long songs doesn't mean you have talent, and vice versa. Metallica's St. Anger had 7 and 8 min. long songs. Were they good at all? No.
Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory's longest track was 3:36. Was every song on it great? Yes.

What the crap does making long songs have to do with anything? Did invention mention anything about making long songs? No. Improv involves experimenting with songs, and preforming it a little differently than what is on the record. Example? Celldweller. Just go to any of their shows and you'll see why.

some people think the songs off of St. Anger were good, some people hate Hybrid Theory.

The only problem is, Incubus, never has been, and never will be a nu-metal band, based on the fact that they are more intelligent than any nu-metal, lyrically and musically
