I don't see the problem, either. It's weird. I have it set to stay at 30 FPS but it still runs slow.

The FX-5200 would be the problem if you were using Windows XP.

i have the 5200 card, and every since i bought it i have had nothing but great performance! i have xp too. Any way will, the reason halo runs crappy on your machine is because the game itself is crappy, people at pcgammer have monster machines to test out games, when doing a review on halo, they said it still ran slow, over all it was borring and a bad port to a really good console game.

Ports usually are crappy, definately when it comes to pc games to console game port, the controls and graphics usually get screwed up...take jedi outcast for a fine exsample, pc version is fun as anything, many things you can do, xbox is crappy and you cant even turn your lightsaber off and hold while walking, becuase there arnt many control on a console, they have to leave features like that out

You're right. I forgot about the fact that Halo for the PC sucks.

Because all the other games I play run fine.

3 years?! It was announced back in '97, not in '01! It was supposed to ship in '98, I believe.

tkd_rap -- I don't agree with that. Scripting wasn't anything new. Go look at the original Unreal. There was a ton of scripting in that, but it wasn't considered "groundbreaking". I'm honestly not sure why people think Half-Life was so influential -- it wasn't.

Will -- Halo's been known to cause problems with computers. It runs far too slow, the work of a bad port from Gearbox.

    I hate Gearbox.

They better not do the Halo 2 port, if there is one.

    Valve should do it. B)

You and me both! Gearbox did a horrible job of porting Halo to the PC -- the texture resolutions may have been increased, but they hardly optimized the game at all to make it look as good as it did on the XBox (since it was optimized for a 640 x 480 TV screen).

Gearbox is on my "!@$!" list, we'll just say... Nightfire was crap, Halo wasn't much better, and I'm thinking that "Brothers In Arms" is being overhyped as it is. We'll have to see about that one, though.

I don't know if there's going to be a port of Halo 2... the first was just ported because Bungie had announced it for PC and Mac (well, Mac first, then PC, then XBox, then XBox and PC, then back to only XBox, then it was ported, lol) and wanted to give something to the fans who waited years for it.
