Ever since the day it was rumoured that a sequel was going to be released to the original Shrek I had been anticipating the day this movie would hit the theatres. After seeing the film I am glad to say that not only was Shrek 2 entertaining, but also considerably better then the first film in more ways then one.

While the first movie leaped boundaries in terms of it's groundbreaking CGI animation, the special effects couldn't be any more tasty on the second helping of Shrek. From realistic raindrops on Shrek's face to the moving whiskers on Puss's face it is clear that the team over at Dreamworks went all out on the second film, surpassing the realism of the original in ways that even diehard fans of the movie could never expect. I was definetely impressed by a lot of scenes in the movie and I can only wait till this comes out on DVD so I can pick out a lot of the hidden nuances that you may sometimes miss in the largeness of the big screen.

Moving on, although the movie may seem directed towards kids a lot more the second time around there are some definete adult jokes and hidden meanings in the movie that older people will no doubt catch from time to time. One subliminal message was so dirty in the film that it caused a large percentage of the crowd to gasp at the joke while leaving a lot of the kids confused as to what was so funny. I won't reveal what it is but I will alert that it has to do with the newly added character "Puss in boots".

You can expect a lot of those dirty jokes as well as some unexpected surprizes in all areas of the film if you decide to see in theatres sometime soon. I purposely tried not to reveal a lot of details about the film but I will say that if you found the previews to be funny, then you will definetely enjoy the whole movie.

Overall I'd give it an A+. There were some dry spots but there are so few of them this time around that you surely owe it to yourselves to watch it. Definetely a lot more entertaining then the original.

Oh..and something happens to our beloved Shrek, but I'll leave you to see it for yourself.

Oh, the suspense is killing me!

Sounds like a great movie, as I suspected when I first saw the trailer.

It's nothing bad, but it's still nothing you'd expect.

I've never really liked these CG films, Shrek was a slight exception. Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy are damn funny.

Donkey gets affected in the same way as Shrek does in this movie btw, as well as Fiona. They all suffer the same fate. :shifty:
