You knew this discussion was gonna pop up some time. Its time to get in touch with your "philosophical" side. Which has more effect on who you are, heredity or environment?

I'll have to say its at least 80% environment. The brain controls everything you do and how you act. When a baby is born, they know no more than the baby in the crib to their left or right. Therefore, the environment dictates what kind of person you become. The other 20% might come into effect based on how effective your brain works, which might very well be inherited from your parents.

Most of it is environment. Some of it is heredity. I hear a lot from my parents, "You got that from us" when I do or say a certain thing. Kind of annoying but they are probably right.

I'd have to say mostly environment, maybe 90-91%. The way you act and your adittude is all about who you are, not who your parents are. The reason you do some things like your parents, in my mind, is because they are a huge portion of your environment, and they brought you up, so its only logical that you would share some of the same personality characteristics.

I'd have to say most likely more the environment. I mean, most people live their years between 0-18 with their parents, and in those years you learn a lot and where do you learn most of it? Your surroundings and the lifestyle you were brought into. Who brings you into it? Your parents.
