Yeah... TRL pisses me off. They almost never play any rock videos. And if they do, it's because it's a new band... once the band's been out for awhile - they forget all about them.
I have to admit, I do watch it occasionally. I only watch it if a particular guest is on there that I like. It is lame but it's the only time I really see any music videos.
Showing 60 seconds of the video is really lame, I agree. But then again, the show is entertaining. Whether you hate it or not, you have to agree that the amount of sheer celebrities that appear on that show, and the entertainment they provide, is unparalleled. You don't watch TRL for music...it's about checking out the stars that pass by. For me, TRL is cool.
They showed 20 videos on TRL today. Lostprophets got number 19. :wth: Hoobastank got #16. Hanson got #14.
Can't stand TRL, I never liked it, even back in elementary school when almost any media influenced me. TRL was just boring...I didn't understand it. The DJ/VJ/MJ/whatever are just too ecstatic for me.
I used to watch TRL all the time, but now I never watch it. They don't play anything I like, really, and I liked it better when Carson Daly was on there most of the time. I like IMX, FUSE's couterpart to TRL, much better.
I don't have mtv so I don't watch it. Not sure I would even if I had it though, unless a good band performs. :wth:
I HATE it. They show 60 seconds of the videos but 20 seconds are taken up when they have someone in the crowd give shout-outs. Ugh, the VJs are annoying too. It's all Clay Aiken, Britany Spears, and 50 Cent on it.
I'm shocked they are still around. TRL lost its already lacking appeal when the countdown got flooded with sh*tty lyrically horrible rap music.
I miss the early 90's MTV with Beavis and Butthead, Daria, that old dating show Carmen Elektra used to host (drool)...etc.
Do you think if there were enough fans that didn't give a #### about TRLs current status (all pop music) and tried to vote for videos of whatever band they're into right now to change the basis of the countdown (all pop music), would it make a difference? I'm feeling a "I dont want my band on that show" vibe. If you like all metal, only metal, and nothing but metal, would you want a MRL (metal request live)? If you like punk, would you want a PRL (punk request live)? Etc, etc.
maybe because they thought the members of hanson were hotter than the members of hoobastank. Damn teenie show. Hate it! Only reason I watched it was because I thought BTH was gonna premiere. :rawk:
