No, not the swashbuckler pirates, the movie filming pirates. With help from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) have caught the first two culprits in their new campaign targeting pirates who use camcorders in cinemas to release onto the internet. Ruben Centero Moreno, 34, was arrested after the police task force used night vision goggles to spot video cameras. Min Jae Joun, 28, was also arrested under the suspicion of recording a screening of The Passion of the Christ on April 10th. A cool new way to catch piraters. I thought it was clever.
Really makes me feel safe to know that law enforcement is going after your average joe who's pirating movies while rapists and murderers are walking the streets a free man.
Oh LAPD...im going to be so safe now.... WHAT ABOUT THE RAPIST AND TERRORISTS AND ETC!? WHAT ABOUT THEM!? stupid world.
I find it amusing that they show the little clips saying "please put an end to pirating" to the people who PAID to see the movie.
i thought when i read the title it wne t pirates like the ship pirates witht h parrots and patches over the eyes lol
I thought you were talking about real pirates. Are pirates even real? Or are they just in books and stuff?
i think that pirates are real and you still get them today attacking ships with expensive cargo and the like. Pirates were definately real in history though.
It definitely helps you sleep at night, doesn't it? [/b][/quote] No, i'm sure those damn pirates can find more advanced tactics to camcord movies. Maybe sniper cams. Ah poor Sony, Warner, Columbia... losing so many cents in a day...
Meh, if you think about it, it is kind of stupid to take a camcorder in and tape a movie. Bad quality, high risk, nothing to ur advantage. Pointless.
Dude, that sucks. How am I supposed to get my movies? I'm sure as hell not going to pay like 10 bucks to get in and about 15$ for food, when all I have to do is go on IRC for a few hours. Sure, there will still be DvD rips, but those are big, and you have to wait for the DvD release to get them. You're probably thinking that I'm a no good leecher. Good point. I am. (I have never paid for a computer game or program in my life. Not even Windows. )Only because of the insane prices you need to pay just to get into the movie. We have a local theater, and it's only 4$ to get in. But they only can play like 2 movies for a 3 week period. Point being, I had respect for the people working for the underground movie pirates like TMD. They were power-to-the-people heroes, and it would really suck to see them shut down.
