*cough cough* Britney Spears
I'm paying attention (very intently, in fact), but I'm not buying her album.
Well, I don't know if this is accurate or not, but on bringmetolife.com it says that Imaginary will be a European single and there'll be a video for it there, sorta like From the Inside for Linkin Park. I won't fully believe this though until I see the video since it wasn't announced on the official site. If this is true, two singles could make a bigger difference.
I don't think Imaginary well sell that much if its released as a European single just like From The Inside didn't.
The RIAA gives out these certifications. American only. UK singles would have no effect on US sales.
Oops, well then I mean overall sales worldwide, which still matters.
I doubt very much that Fallen will surpass Hybrid Theory in sales. Of course it's a possibility but I can't see them doing it. And let's not forget Hybrid Theory is still selling, albeit at a much, much slower pace than at it's peak or thereabouts. I have to say a large part of Evanescence's success must be attributed to the vast and dare I say it, invaluable, amount of leverage they got from being on the Daredevil soundtrack. It would have been interesting to see if Fallen would have taken off the way it did without that added factor. How long that run of success continues is anybody's guess though, it seems to be selling pretty well at the moment. But I think it's biggest single has come and gone.
I think it still would have taken off, but it would have taken a lot longer. I fell in love with BMTL when I heard a 30 second clip in a TV ad, having no idea whatsoever that it was on any soundtrack.
Oops, well then I mean overall sales worldwide, which still matters.
Yeah, so then 'Fallen' would have to sell over 15 million worldwide to compete with 'Hybrid Theory'. I don't know their worldwide number of units sold, though.
the cd is good, but HT is better, i dont care about the sales of the first cd, it's all about the follow up, much like LP, can EV do it? or are they just a big /inthemoment\ band?
Yeah, so then 'Fallen' would have to sell over 15 million worldwide to compete with 'Hybrid Theory'. I don't know their worldwide number of units sold, though.
The worldwide sales of Fallen is around 8 million right now.
The worldwide sales of Fallen is around 8 million right now.
Interesting. On a related note, the last I heard Meteora has just crossed the 9 million mark in worldwide sales. It appears in terms of global sales, Fallen has more than Hybrid Theory to compete with.

please, compare "My Immortal" and "Going Under" to each other and tell me how they sound alike. You might want to listen to all of their songs before labelling them as all the same.
i own the album
You're the only person I've ever heard say that all their songs sound alike. You're crazy. The only songs that sound even remotely alike are "Hello" and the demo of "My Immortal." Other than that, they're all as different as different can be.
