actually there's a girl that really pisses me off everytime we spar together... usually the instructur would let us spar with someone of our average belt... "unluckily" there's only two of us and i really hate it when i have to actually spar with her...

she would be kicking me hard, especially on my thigh that sometimes it left bruises... it's always my fault for not returning that... well, i dont want people to get hurt... i dont want her to get hurt... ( the very last time we sparred - that time using the protection pads - i was like losing my head or something... i didn't realize that i was actually exasperate at her that i punched her several times at the score-marks points on the pad!! i mean, that's nasty!!!... i hate myself for doing it when i think about it!..) well, now that i am not sure when i'm going to do that again! probably not!!...

but she still pisses me off!!... :wth:

i have problems fighting girls too, dont want to go to hard, lately they dont let me fight them though[i kick really hard fast] but back in the day when i did, i went easy, mostly danced around their kicks, but last time i fought a girl, she kicked me in the throat, put me out of the entire class for a day. she quit though before i could get her back, she dang pretty too  but hey, if they kick you in balls, then forget the "Dont hit a lady" rule, becuase she aint no lady if be hitting low, kill her then! but talk to your teacher about this, tell him you dont like sparring girls

The more you sweat, the less you bleed.

It's hard learning, it's elemental with martial arts. :p

Well, the test would be like in two days time... I'm rather scared than ready! Hopefully that i wont "flop" during that day... which i'd always unintentionally do!!... hopefully i would be "nasty" fighting not only my opponent but my insides quite as well... (gotta boost that confidence i always lack of publicly!)... brrr, i hope to get over it as soon as i can!!...

My God... am i scared!!.. :(

My advice: Meditate for about 20 minutes before the test, clear your mind, and think of energy flowing within you. If you believe you will be strong, you will be. I've done this during all of my testings and I swear to you, it works. It's amazing how it does, too.

Good knight, how the heck do they get that high? i couldnt jump half that high, then again, i am white :D

Well took my black belt test last Saturday, was 6 1/2 hours long, there was "Blood/Sweat/ and Tears/" I kid you not. I didn’t cry though, any way I pasted, but only after I had to do.... poomse/ a five page written test on terms that consisted of....

    1. List the vital points of the body...around 30 of them
    2. Write the name and meaning of each poomse, 9 with the black belt
    3. Write the Korean name for the equipment and judges in the ring
    4. List the forbidden acts of sparring, and the appropriate acts
    5. Name the listings.... el=e=Sam=SA=O=Yuk=Chi=Pul=Koo=Sib
    6. Various terms, Korean name for instructor, place you take taekwondo, flag, bow, turn around, and so on.

After that was over, we had to make up ten, 6 move hand techniques, and kick techniques, graded on how creative and accuracy, if they would actually work or not. After that we had bull ring, you fight two guys without equipment, except for a head guard, this is where people started to brake down because of the pain. After that, we did self defense, defend yourself from...

    Being pinned to the floor
    Choke hold from behind
Head locks, a couple of variations
A two handed choke hold from the front
Defend yourself from some one trying to take out your legs
Defend when some one is trying to break your neck when you are on your knees, from behind...and so on...

After that we had to defend ourselfs from two people, and then got 20 pieces of boards and had to break them doing these techniques

    1. Lots of jump-three-sixty round house kicks
    2. Back kicks to the body and head
    3. Jump front kicks [easy B) ]
    4. Spin hook kicks, or just spin kicks
    5. Ridge hand strike, and back fist punch
    6. Jump ax kick

I think that’s it, any way I still have bruises, but it was worth it, because now I am a black belt, into his school they make sure you earn it! and are not given it, so after 5 and a half years and a 6 and a half hour tough test, I did it!

i did some wing chun and then went on to brazilian jiu jitsu.

If i knew how to kickbox or muy thai i guess i would know a lot about really fighting, but whatever, i don't like fighting, just think it's good to know about. :)

if anyone cares, fighting really is about 3 things... striking, the clinch, and the ground. even though bruce lee was an actor he's dead (no pun :p) on with that, not to mention the part about conditioning too!

oh god, well i lost alot of sleep after the test becuase i wasnt sure if i passed. The test is 350 dollars, if i failed i would have to pay for the next one, not my parents! And being 2 years older than any one else, or well, taking for two years longer than anyone else on the test, if i were to fail and every one else pass, that would suck going from head of the glass to bottum in a day! Plus being able to beat them all up, and still haveing to take orders would suck too

    that seems pricey!!

what else do you get for that kinda money?!

i would buy a new computer or something... or just a tazer that would work better hah :p

BTW no disrespect it's good that you are into it, I just think that's a lot of money to take a test! can't you just give sensei/sifu/teacher money or help him some other ways ? Or is it just the set fee or what?

thats the set fee, he doesnt profet from it i dont think, he has to send the money to korea along with a form i signed and my picture ID. Not his fault, it's the greedy korians! but it's worth the money, you get a belt/certificut/ and a new suit [dobach]....350 is not enough to buy a new good computer, at least for gameing standards

The money is worth the training, it keeps you in shape and it keeps your mind straight, you're off the streets and out of trouble, and it raised my grades. I'm out of martial arts now, because there's no school around here, but I'm going to move to St. Louis where there's probably tons of schools teaching styles of all kinds of martial arts.
