do you think LP should try and spread out there songs like metallica. i think it would be a great idea cuz a 36mins isnt very much when you compare metallica CD's that are 60-75mins. what are your thoughts on this
Linkin Park might make longer songs in the future but I will stop listening to them if they ever become like Metallica. They went downhill after they sold out by entering the mainstream with their "black album."
i think some longer songs would be good but i find will some metallica songs that they just go on and on
Although I'm not against songs being long by any means.... I don't think Linkin Park songs would work as long ones...I just can't see them being able to go on for 6 or 7 minutes plus, without getting tired sounding or boring the listener.
Good song doesn't need to be long. Too long albums and songs are sometimes pretty boring. I think, 40 mins is accurate.
i hope as much as possible..as long they dont lose their hip hop/electric side.... no offence at metallica fans but u cant compare them. LP is way better than them IMO
i would like some 15 second gutar solos in there every now an again on the cd, maybe make some of the songs 4 minutes and maybe, a five minute one, but here like this track 1= 00:20 [intro] track 2= 3:30 track 3= 4:00 track 4= 3:45 track 5= 3:15 track 6= 3:50 track 7= 4:15 track 8= 3:35 track 9= 3:20 track 10= 2:30 [joe's little session/CFTI track] track 11= 3:20 track 12= 5:00 [a long emotional soft song by chester!] track 13= 00:20 [outro] __________ thats like 39 40 minuts worth of music, which is good, and the cd would only have to have 10 real songs!
Yeah, I think that some songs should extend longer. I don't think they should have made the ones they already have longer, I mean in the future.
If they can make lengthy songs that are still interesting (ex: Tool) then go for it. I doubt they will...since, from interviews, their theory seems to be "quickly get to point and leave people wanting more." So...are Linkin Park sellouts? Their about as mainstream as you get.
That’s where Metallica and Linkin Park are different, I think. Metallica was doing great in the underground scene and they decided that wasn’t good enough and decided they wanted more and entered the mainstream.
The overall length of their albums should definately be increased, I dont care if they do that by lengthening each song or adding more tracks. IMO it would be awesome if they mixed in some more instrumentals between the singing.
More songs on a album would be cool. Like, instead of just 11 real songs - put like, 14, at least. As for length, as long as it doesn't get boring. I think 4 minutes is fine.
i think song amount is fine as is, they put 11 real tracks on there, yeah thats short, but i like every single one. i dont want them getting like other bands putting filler tracks, or some that just arnt good...although....judging by the b-sides i have heard, they rock too, i dont know.....maybe just make the album longer with lengthier songs, rather than more short songs
i think what LP are doing at the moement in time is good. however songs like faint which are under three mins could do with like an extra verse or sumthing which involves joe. i also think there should be some interludes..... iam sure LP could come up with killer 40 second instrumentals
I'm sure they will have some longer songs... chester will probably wanna do some really long emotional thing heh for now i really like how they have a nice 'punch' to them. making them longer just to extend the album would not be good. Also, adding songs that don't fit the mood of the rest of the album would not make it better either. ...
I wish there were more tracks on the album. Lengthy tracks (e.g. Master of Puppets) I've always thought were just way too damn long. I mean, 7 minutes of one song is too much. The longest LP song is System, like five minutes. Take that back, there are a few songs on Reanimation that top that. And those are good, but just the regular song length for them with more songs would be real nice. I think I repeated myself 6 times in there.
