Hey guys my boss hates LP and he was tellling me "ohhh those guys most love when little kids go up and tell them there rock/hip-hop becouse there f***ing not ". My boss angers me and just for those words I made him listen to Step Up, Dedicated and High Voltage (remix). My boss is an underground rapper and he his pretty damn good and to my surprise he liked the LP tracks but he then told me " Well maby they were hip-hop but now for there "loving" fans they have just sold out and have nothing to do with hip-hop" DAMN my boss but he is kind of right LP has become less hip-hop  What do you guys think ?

I agree. I think they have actually decreased over the years. The EP's rapping is friggin awesome! Hybrid Theory's was great but Meteora's rapping wasn't as good. LP has gotten less hip/hop over the years.

well yes they are less hip hop but not because they have gone soft or anything :wth: they still have rapping on meteora just a differnt kind, let them evolve their sound and grow as artists and we will not be dissapointed (w00t)

Meteora was unbalanced between Mike and Chester. However, songs like Step Up, Dedicated, and High Voltage are songs that weren't release on official albums (The E.P. doesn't count). So to those who don't know LP would believe they're more rock, but they actually aren't. If judged on Meteora, then yeah, it's more rock, but I think Hybrid Theory is their perfection.

They need that balance again .

IMO Linkin Park going less hip-hop is fine by me! Personally, I am more of a rock fan. I just downloaded a few of their older songs and I'm finding the tracks on Meteora to be a lot better.

I think that LP's sound is just changing... it's evolving and such. But yeah, I think it needs more of a balance like Keaton said.

I think it has more to do with Mike's rapping instead of the balence.
Better Rapping (like the EP)=Better songs

ive never seen lp as hip hop because most of the hip hop today is all about sex or revolving around sex but i think it would be good to see some of the famous shinoda rap in the new album

Same here... most "rap" nowadays is about b*tches, sex, "getting crunk" and doing drugs... thus why I don't consider LP rap. They are hip-hop. Major difference.

But yea, definatley add Mike back onto alot more songs. Chaz, we love you and all, but we need M.Shinoda back on alot of the songs.

You know, they should re-release Step Up, Dedicated, and High Voltgage on a DIFFERENT cd, not like the re-release of the EP...

You know, since some people are too poor to join the LPU and might not have music downloading programs... since that IS illegal

But yea, more mike= better music= better lp ^_^

Mike is in a lot of the songs, he just needs to show his talent more. In Meteora, he just had simple rhymes in some songs which sounded good in context, but didn't take too much talent. For the next album, yeah I agree, they need the HT balence again, and better lyrics...and better rapping
