Linkin Park band member Phoenix has appeared as a guest on The Mason Crosby Show, a morning radio segment on Milwaukee, WI station 105.7 FM The Fan. As its name implies, The Mason Crosby Show is a program hosted by former Green Bay Packers player Mason Crosby, who retired from the sport of football earlier this year. Crosby is also joined by the show's producer Tommy Wortz, filling in for usual co-host Mitch Nelles. Phoenix speaks to Crosby and Wortz in the wake of Linkin Park's recent Pittsburgh show, with the band scheduled to play a show in Milwaukee next week on August 25 at Fiserv Forum. However, between Phoenix's passion for golf and soccer, as well as Crosby's decorated history as a football player, the conversation stays mostly on sports. Among other things, Phoenix speaks about Linkin Park getting the opportunity to visit the Pittsburgh Steelers during their practice (reportedly thanks to a connection to quarterback Aaron Rodgers), and how finding opportunities to go golfing in the midst of the band's current touring schedule has been challenging. The conversation also turns to Linkin Park performing at the UEFA Champions League event back in April. Phoenix reveals that, due to family obligations, he only narrowly made it to Munich in time to perform with the rest of the band. Finally, Phoenix gives his viewpoint on Linkin Park's reformation and return, also giving the quick version of the band's humble beginnings in the late 90s. As mentioned, Linkin Park is set to play a show at Fiserv Forum arena in Milwaukee on August 25, part of a North American tour leg that the band will be on until the end of September.
