A new interview has just been released by The Guardian, talking to Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong after Linkin Parks historic show at Londons Wembley Stadium. The interview covers many different topics, such as the immense success that the band has had with their latest release; From Zero: How the band started looking for a new singer in collaborations, and how Emily got involved with the band: The backlash the band faced following the announcement of the bands return on September 5th, 2024: Whether or not 'One More Light' will appear in the live shows: What do you think of this interview? Come and discuss in our forums. Source: The Guardian
I think Shinoda speaking on the backlash that came with the Linkin Park having a frontwoman is really illuminating. The band hasn't touched on it too much, this is probably the most any band member has said about it
Really good interview! But, that 2000 red hair pic in the article, with the caption "Linkin Park in 2017", is a bit funny
There are some glaring errors in this interview/article. Let's correct them. Image caption says 2017, it's from 2000 What would eventually become Linkin Park was founded by Mike Shinoda and Mark Wakefield. Brad Delson was added next, and then came Rob Bourdon. Phoenix and Joe Hahn were added later. Mark Wakefield was fired / left and Chester Bennington was eventually added. The band had already done tours in South America and Europe for One More Light. They were about to go on a US tour.
Also worth noting that the dismissal of Wakefield was suggested from Jeff Blue, who was with Xero's publisher Zomba. They didn't have a label relationship yet.
