Time for the last show of Linkin Park in Europe for 2025. But don't worry, they'll be back in 2026.

Alright, so... where do we start?

Did you know that the first two Linkin Park shows in Europe were in France? To start off 2001, the band headed over to Europe to perform some small promo appearances, this is part of the same "tour" that we talked about in the Wembley tour post, and the first two appearances were in Paris. First they played a (presumed) full set for the 'Rock Sound' magazine, with very small attendance, as you could only get in to the show via invitation. The next day the band made an appearance on the French TV talk show called 'Nulle Part Ailleurs', playing 'One Step Closer'. This was the first time the band had ever played a TV show, and their first US appearance wouldn't come until a few days later, when they played on the 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien' show, also performing 'One Step Closer'.

As for the rest of 2001, the band returned twice. First in March when they opened for Deftones on their 'Back to school' tour, playing a 10 song set, all songs from 'Hybrid Theory' but missing 'Cure for the Itch' and 'Crawling'. In September the band returned to Paris once again, this time as headliners. For this show the band played a 16 song set at the 'Élysée Montmartre'. At this point the band were struggling to headline shows, as they only had one album under their belt, so they were throwing in extra stuff in the set to fill some time, Mr Hahn performing some solo stuff, songs from 'Hybrid Theory EP', at this show they included 'Step Up' and 'And One', but on other stops on this tour, 'High Voltage' had been included as well. 'My December' was included too, making this the third time it had ever been performed. Brad played a quick 'Sweet Child O'Mine' before the band ended the show with 'One Step Closer'.

Next we go to 2003 for two shows on the 'Meteora' touring cycle. First we have an appearance on the legendary LP Underground tour, a tour where they played smaller shows exclusively for members of the LP Underground. This was only the third ever show on the Meteora cycle, so all the Meteora songs are still fresh, but also limited. We don't have some of the mainstays from that album yet, like 'Numb' or 'Breaking the Habit', instead we have songs that wouldn't last long, 'Hit the Floor' and 'Easier to Run'. Later in the year, September 6th to be precise, the band returned again. At this point 'Numb' had been added to the set, so had the 'Reanimation' version of 'Pushing Me Away', and 'Figure.09' been as well. 'Hit the Floor' and 'Easier to Run' were already gone though, and have not been played live since April of 2003. This is the same set as the band performed on Summer Sanitarium that year, so if you've seen 'Live in Texas', you know it.

And now we have to jump forward 3 years, because even though the band toured heavily in 2004, most of it was in North America, and there were no show in Paris, or even France that year. So let's jump forward to 2007 when the band finally returned to the city for a show. Early on in the European tour in 2007, on May 30th, there was finally a new show for the bands Parisian fans, and at this point in the 'Minutes to Midnight' cycle the band had added a few songs, but not many, from the album into the set, having had their live debuts less than a week earlier. 'No More Sorrow', 'Given Up' and 'What I've Done' were the first songs played live from the album, and on this cycle they also added 'The Little Things Go Away' and 'Bleed It Out'.

Now we get to 2008, with the band out on their Winter Europe tour, they stop by Paris on January 22nd. For this tour the band had added so many songs from 'Minutes to Midnight' that they had to rotate the songs in and out every night (just like now on the 'From Zero' cycle). For this show they kept 'Wake + Given Up', 'No More Sorrow', 'In Pieces', 'Shadow of the Day', 'In Between', 'What I've Done', and 'Bleed It Out'. Songs that weren't played were 'The Little Things Give You Away', 'Valentines Day', and 'Leave Out All the Rest'.

Can we get DSPs back? We can make videos like this of every show, but in 4K!

Next up we have a 2010 show, and it's a special one for one reason. A good reason. With the album being brand spanking new, the band played most of 'A Thousand Suns' live, this show included, only skipping out on 'Burning in the Skies', 'Robot Boy', and 'Blackout'. And while I'll always talk up the decision to play songs from that album live, the reason this show is special is because this is the only during the entire 'A Thousand Suns' cycle to have 'A Place for My Head' in it. The day before this show, 'Hybrid Theory' turned 10, and the band decided at the show to play the song unrehearsed, and you can watch the result below.

A Linkin Park show took place in Paris in 2014. That's all I have to say.

In 2017 we have a few appearances in Paris. We start of with two small acoustic performances by Mike & Chester. First, on March 27, they played 'Heavy' and 'Crawling' for RTL2, and the day after they played a 'Virgin Radio Private Showcase' at Warner Music France, here they played 'Heavy', performed 'Battle Symphony' for the first time, 'What I've Done', and 'Burn It Down'. On this day they also recorded of a performance of 'Heavy' with Waxx. A great version of the song that you can watch below. But before you watch that video, while the French performance of 2017 that most fans will be familiar with is the Hellfest one, the band did actually start their 2017 European tour at Download Paris 2017.

And now we're finally in the 'From Zero' era! Last year the band played a massive show at Paris La Defense Arena in front of 40 thousand fans from all over the world, and even sneaking a live debut of 'Over Each Other', eleven days after it premiered as the new single after a scavenger hunt that took us all over the world hunting for billboards with hints and clues about the music video for the song. This was also the first headlining performance of 2024 where the band didn't perform with their 360 stage, instead playing a traditional set up with the stage at one end of the arena.

Alright, and now we're finally in the present. Most recently the band played two back-to-back shows in Frankfurt, Germany, tearing the roof of the stadium... if the roof hadn't been left open... anyway... If you went to both the shows, not only did you get to see Sam Carter from Architects come out on 'One Step Closer' twice, you also got to see 11 songs from the 'From Zero Deluxe Edition', the only one not being played was Casualty. But you did get another song with the word "casualty" in it, since the band pulled out a rare performance of 'Keys to the Kingdom', for the first time for this Europe tour on night 1.

After this show the band takes an couple of weeks off from touring, hopefully going home for some rest, before heading out on a 2 month North America tour in the US and Canada. That tour starts on July 29th.

With livestreaming becoming more accessible than ever, fans at home have been able to watch shows on social media via YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram livestreams from attendees. While we are not asking our readers to livestream the show, if anyone reading this finds a stream or is streaming it themselves, let us know so we can watch along with you!

Will you be attending this show? Are you attending any shows on the North American tour? If so, have you let people know in the meet-up thread? Come discuss in our forums.

Watching bits of that 2014 show, I'd happily have GATS and even, surprisingly, Wastelands back in the set, hit harder than I remember live. Not on a constant basis, but like, a few random appearances would be fun.

I also remember the APFMH from 2010! It felt so special that the band performed it again that time - little did we know it would one day get back to being a regular live.

With that said, ending a tour leg in Stade de France is not too bad. Another huge show for the band.

I did not know this at all, wow! That performance is great, and I think the technical issues just made it come off even more intense

I've listened to this APFMH performance before but I don't remember watching video footage of it - for something they didn't really rehearse, they absolutely crushed it :phoenix:

How much convincing would the band need to bring back "Hit the Floor" just one time for the giggles

Curious to see if they shake things up any more. Will "Faint" close the encore tonight as well?

I will still hold out hope for "QWERTY" - never give up folks

They moved "Up from the Bottom"...up (from the bottom? :kappa: )

No "Cut the Bridge" or "New Divide" this time. "Stained" and "Over Each Other" in the same setlist.

They're playing around with the order of things in a way that intrigues me.

Now move the opener for the North American leg and let's see what happens!

I think we've got a winner crowd for the European tour.

In The End has the best chorus out of all their songs.
