Everyone, make sure to wish Emily Armstrong a happy birthday!

Raleigh, North Carolina and Linkin Park don't have a lot of history. Only three times before has the band played in the city, and for only two of those shows do we know what they played. In November 2000, the band played a show in the city for the first time, but we do not know exactly what they played. Raleigh missed out on the large-scale touring the band did for the Hybrid Theory and Meteora cycles, but in 2007, the band finally made their return to the city on that year's Projekt Revolution tour. At Linkin Park's latest performance in Raleigh, we got some nice classic songs that we miss and would like to see make their return to the set these days. Songs like "No More Sorrow", "Wake 2.0", "The Little Things Give You Away", and "Shadow of the Day" would all be welcome returns, and none of them would sound wrong coming from the current lineup of the band.

In 2018, Mike Shinoda stopped by for a show on his Monster Energy Outbreak Tour, first rehearsing eight songs and then playing a full set. The show included favorites from that tour like "When They Come for Me", "Lift Off" with a random rap verse in the bridge, "Crossing a Line", "About You/Over Again/Papercut", and many more. Check out the video below for a good performance of "Crossing a Line".

Baltimore was the latest show the band played, and it was a great one! We got a few surprises in the setlist, starting with "Points of Authority" returning to the live shows for the first time this year. It took the first rotation spot of the night, meaning that it is now rotating with "Lying From You" and "Cut the Bridge" Next in the rotation spots, we come to Mike's solo medley. With Mike on his mission to now rap a different verse at every show over the extended transition, at this show, we got his verse from the Nick Catchdubs remix of "I'll Be Gone" off of RECHARGED. This was the first time that verse had appeared in a Linkin Park show since 2015. For the rotation spot that usually houses either "Over Each Other" or "Good Things Go", we instead got the live debut of "Stained"! This song was one of the only two remaining off of From Zero that hadn't been played live yet, so we're just waiting for "IGYEIH" to be played live as well. For the last rotation spot, we got another performance of the mega live classic "A Place for My Head",

Oh yeah, grandson also came out to help the band out with "One Step Closer". Even though he has been opening for the band for many shows since this album cycle suddenly kicked off in September of last year, he had not appeared on stage with the band for any songs. grandson obviously has history with the song, having done a cover of it back in 2020 for the Hybrid Theory 20th anniversary. You think he'll continue coming out for the song on the rest of this tour?

So we only have three shows left on this leg of the tour after this show, and while we've gotten plenty of surprises the whole year, are there more coming? As stated earlier, from the standard edition of From Zero, "IGYEIH" is the only song left to be played, and if we count the deluxe version of the album, we also have "Unshatter" and "Let You Fade" remaining to see performed live. Is now the time to bring out some of those songs? What about songs that were talked about before the tour started? Songs like "LIES GREED MISERY" "Blackout" and "QWERTY" all had plenty of speculation around them, but they're nowhere to be seen in the current setlists.

So what do you think? Will we get any surprises in the set for Emilys birthday?

After this show, the band heads down south to Greenville, South Carolina on May 8, with just another three shows left before taking a couple of weeks to rest up for a crazy busy summer.

    Remaining shows:
    May 8, 2025:
    Greenville, SC
May 10, 2025: Columbus OH - Sonic Temple
May 17, 2025: Daytona Beach, FL - Welcome To Rockville

Happy Birthday Emily! I hope she has an amazing day, and also a great show tonight! She has grown on me quickly, and I appreciate her for being part of the reason Linkin Park returned. Thank you Emily. ❤️

Emily has brought such new energy to the band and they're just killing it live with this revitalization. Stuff like the "IGYEIH" debut really underscores that. Pitmaster Emily needs to be a staple of live shows.

They're really out there living their best lives touring. I'm really excited to see them in August!
