It's time for our weekly LPTV: From Zero episode! This week we're looking at the making of for the third single off of From Zero, 'Over Each Other'. There is a lot of vocal recording in this episode, but we start off looking at the song with a brief clip from December 2022. Mike, Dave, and Joe are listening to a early version of the song with vocals by Mike and a different sounding instrumental in Mikes home studio, before we flash forward to the Eastwest Studios in February 2024 where we spend most of the episode in the vocal booth with Emily. We then finally fast forward to June 2024 where Brad is providing notes on the song back in Mike's home studio. Check out the episode below. What do you think of the new episode? This was my favourite episode yet. In the lead up to From Zero, Mike was talking about how Joe was convinced about the band's future by Emily's performance on Over Each Other. Pretty cool that I think we just witnessed that lightbulb moment! Also I know it was Emily's song yadda yadda, but after hearing Mike's demo, I think Over Each Other could've benefitted both sonically and thematically from a duet between the two.
The part when Emily's laughter was on beat with the song was golden! I expected to see the "screamy pants" at the end of the song to make it into this episode.

Awesome episode! So cool to see the process of them working through vocal takes to the version we now know and love. I need a full Making Of From Zero documentary fr.
For a minute I thought we were going to find out that Emily's laugh was actually layered into the final recording. Would have been a good joke.
It'd be lovely to see this footage contextualized chronologically as all the songs coming together in disparate parts, rather than a focus on one song the whole way through. I think that would be a nice journey, a journey From Zero even.
It's so great to see them having such a great time. These inside the studio videos have been such a treat.
