Time for another show where Linkin Park hasn't played a show in the city for a really long time! Tonight, the band will be playing at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The last time the band played a show in Grand Rapids was on November 21, 2001, making it 23 and a half years ago that the city got a show. Like with many shows from the band's earliest years, not much is known in terms of setlist or anything special that happened, so there's not really anything to talk about there. A show was scheduled to take place on February 4, 2015 but had to be cancelled because Chester Bennington broke his leg on the Hunting Party tour.

Thankfully though, for us to have something to talk about, the band has played other shows in Michigan, so let's talk about some of those! Michigan has fortunately gotten some professionally-filmed shows, including the 2003 MTV $2 Bill show in Detroit on the Meteora cycle, and the 2007 Projekt Revolution show in Clarkston that was filmed/streamed online by MySpace.

    Detroit 2003

    Clarkston 2007

But let's focus on the latest show the band played in Michigan, which was a show in Clarkston in 2014, when they were out on the Carnivores tour for The Hunting Party. Let's take a quick look at "Given Up" from that show.

Huh, I guess Erynn Halvorson has been doing this for a while?!

Three years after that show took place, Linkin Park had a show scheduled in Clarkston again, but, due to the passing of Chester Bennington, the entire tour obviously had to be cancelled. Mike Shinoda did, however, stop by Michigan the next year when he visited Detroit on his Monster Energy Outbreak Tour during the Post Traumatic cycle.

Alright, brief history lesson = done! Let's talk about the previous show in Tulsa, Oklahoma!

For the first show in Tulsa, Oklahoma in almost 25 years, the band pulled off a total banger! How about pulling out a new song in the second spot on the setlist?! That's right, for the second show in a row, the band pulled out another live debut, this time being the full version of "Cut the Bridge"! Previously, the song's bridge verse was featured over the bridge on "Bleed It Out", but, now, we finally get the full song. Check it out below:

For his solo medley, Mike brought out the second verse for When They Come for Me. This is the first time in MANY years that the second verse of the song has shown up live in a Linkin Park show (yes, it was performed on the Post Traumatic and 2015 Fort Minor tours. I know. I said Linkin Park.) - the last time was the last time the band performed the full song, all the way back on January 10, 2014.

The band played "Good Things Go". That's all that needs to be said about that in order to justify posting a video of it.

For the third rotation spot in the setlist (the previous two were 'Cut the Bridge' and 'Good Things Go'), the band pulled out 'From the Inside' again. This song was rotated in, replacing 'A Place for My Head' from the previous show in Austin, Texas.

And, for the last video of this post, let's take a look at 'Heavy Is the Crown', where Emily pulled out the full scream on the bridge for the first time. Earlier, she either shortened the scream or split it into two shorter ones, like what Chester used to do on the 'Given Up' bridge.

If you don't want to just check out the specific special moments mentioned above, here's a full recording of the show to enjoy.

After this show, the band continues the tour with a stop in Baltimore, Maryland on May 3, with another four shows left before taking a couple of weeks to rest up for a crazy busy summer.

    Remaining shows:
    May 3, 2025:
    Baltimore, MD
    May 6, 2025: Raleigh, NC
    May 8, 2025: Greenville, SC
May 10, 2025: Columbus OH - Sonic Temple
May 17, 2025: Daytona Beach, FL - Welcome To Rockville

I'm having way too much fun following the tour journey on map, probably because of the bus thing  For anyone sharing my weird geographic interest (and not being from.the US :halfkappa:), that's approx 1500 miles / 2400 km already, assuming it didn't start from LA.

About the show, I'm thinking one of Stained, IGYEIH or Unshatter will get its premiere soon, maybe tonight already. If I had to guess, I'd put a penny on Stained, only because it's the most popular one on Spotify and probably the easiest on Emily's voice.

If they play a different set list again, it'll be now we'll known if Keys is still in rotation, which I'm hoping for.

Why they don’t do “Pushing Me Away”? Would sound awesome. Stained or QWERTY sound cool for me also.

Sorry for separate comment. I'll see if any of my other recordings were decent
