LPTV FROM ZERO: World Tour 2025, Part 2 [Episode 15]

I don't think I'm on record saying it, but I also felt they had to have more than 30 minutes of new music up their sleeve. I think Mike's even said something to the effect of recording lots of music and only picking the "best" 10 tracks for From Zero. The pessimist in me thought that the rest was deemed not good enough, and would be slowly released on LPU records and re-releases over the next 15 years. The optimist thought that we'd get a complementary EP of 3-4 bonus tracks some time in 2025. I don't know what this teaser is for, but if it's even for the latter I'd be very happy. If it's for a full album I'd be delighted. Especially if it includes some more unusual tracks that wouldn't necessarily have fit on their first 'comeback' record.

 

I'll raise you "7 tracks of live stuff and three specifically chosen Actual Demos just to shut people up about 'where's the demos'". Two from pre-Return era, one from Return era.

 

The way I understood it, I think it was more in a way that the picked the 10 songs they felt were the best pick for a first impression.

In other words, the other ones may have been great too, but somehow didn't fit within the scheme of From Zero.

Colin is on record saying they have other great tracks in store, I'm cautiously optimistic about all of it

 

I love how there’s a tease for all we know could be a standalone single, and here we are speculating about new albums and funclub releases.

Fair, I couldn't remember the exact quote, and wanted to err on the side of caution.

 

My hat has been thrown in the “We won’t have to wait two years” ring. I feel it! It’s not unheard of. Gorillaz’ “Humanz” into “The Now Now” after a 7 year hiatus with “Plastic Beach”, for instance. Granted, “The Now Now” is my least favorite. Not for quality reasons, though. It’s overwhelmingly softer music.

I still didn’t expect a tease in March 2025, though. So cool.

if it's a deluxe edition i hope we get an instrumental track too-- really felt the lack of the standard "instrumental track 11" on this rec, especially given that the intro is so short

Though I don't know if any additional tracks would work with FZ's sequencing. It's supposed to be a loop. Maybe they just push the reverbed reverse tail of FZ(I) to the new final song?

 

Thinking about it again, I think this snippet low key indicate a possible release of a new single before the next run of the tour, in April.

Would be weird to just keep carrying on with the tour, drop new LP TV's, and pretend as if this first snippet never existed.

You don't start hype to let it die. Unless they keep giving cryptic clues and hints for a while, without releasing anything. That'd be a big sign towards a bigger release... but we're not there yet

A nice surprise seeing that clip at the end of Mike and Emily in the studio and hinting at new music (hopefully in the nearby future - you'd expect this to be the case). Whether it's a standalone single to promote the tour and as others have stated, to keep them relevant in the music scene (which is the norm with most artists/bands in releasing singles every 6 months or so), part of an EP or new album or whether it's going to lead to a deluxe edition of From Zero - whatever the case, it's an exciting time being a Linkin Park fan. I don't mind what it is, it's just a nice treat to be getting more music after digesting From Zero 4 months ago.
