I was listening to Nine Inch Nails' Mr. Self Destruct, and as the song starts off, it has the same beat that Foreword has as it leads to Don't Stay. I know that one of Chester's influences is Trent Reznor and NIN so it wouldn't be a long-shot to consider that LP might have gotten the idea for the Foreword/Don't Stay lead up from Mr. Self Destruct.

    Any thoughts/opinons?

I always thought it was very similar to listening to Mr. Self Destruct, then right after that, for a moment it reminds me of Terrible Lie. Oh, and Mike has also mentioned Trent & NIN as influences.

I'm sure there are plenty of things that probably sound alike to Foreword. Mike was just beating the crap out of a CD Burner.

Coincidence, my ass. He just happened to be beating on a CD burner and then made it sound like Mr. Self Destruct. Mmhm. *nods wisely* Yep.

You've been living under a rock. lol.

All he did was beat on a CD burner and then assumingly threw it out a window.

I really doubt they were trying to copy "Mr. Self Destruct" in the slightest, even though nine inch nails is a big influence on LP.

    It's all just a coincidence.

LP better hurry up and record their next album, we're running dry of things to chat about :p
