Wow. I just saw the video for Linkin Park's Numb, and I thought it was very good. It has a very sad storyline and I really felt sorry for the girl in the video. Several times in the past have I felt like her. Also, I was listening to the song Breaking the Habit, and I thought it was really good. Does anyone know what his 'habit' was, and was he really talking about suicide or was that just me?
"Numb" has been out since August and has been getting huge rotation. Do you live in a cave? "Breaking The Habit" has been discussed as suicide or self-mutilation (cutting). It's a song Mike wrote about his friend. he'd been trying to write the song for 6 years.

I don't belive we'll ever know the true meaning of Breaking The Habit. It's a very personal song to Mike (and wasn't supposed to be a signle ) .
You know that Chester was a drug-addict. "Breaking the Habit" talks about that less or more I think. So maybe, Mike wrote this song for Chester, but I'm not sure. It's just a supposition.
I love breaking the habit, it sounds a little bit different than the other LP songs but I don't think it has to be a single. For me it feels like a bonus track on meteora; one for the fans.

What i first thought on it was someone being judged alot, just like the girl in the Numb music vid, and nobody really liked her. And that was kind of who she was and more or less a habit... well that's the easiest way I could lay it down
