I listened to ATS from start to finish for the first time in months today, it's still so damn beautiful. I wish they'd go back to that level of motivation in terms of creativity and "thinking outside the box" for just one more album
Loudwire has pitted lp against x japan in best live band I request you all to support lp there THIS IS MY FIRST POST
I think the Linkin Park Twitter account is having an identity crisis, it seems to think it's the Fort Minor account.
Updating my top-ten LP songs playlist "Session" "Until It's Gone" "Waiting For The End" "Until It Breaks" "Roads Untraveled" "My<DSMBR" "Rebellion" "When They Come For Me" "Issho Ni" "The Little Things Give You Away"
Every time I listen to Reanimation, I wonder how did they manage to create such a masterpiece. It's beyond of capabilities of everyone involved on it.
What it came down to, I think, was Shinoda's careful curation. He had a vision for that album and the drive to make sure it was fulfilled, whatever it would take.
Was Shinoda the sole producer of Reanimation, or was Gilmore involved? I'm surprised that it isn't mentioned as his first production work with LP, but ATS is. Also, never really understood the love for Issho Ni, maybe I need to give it another listen..
I never was drawn to Issho Ni :\ I agree though, even for as old as it is, Reanimation just keeps getting better.
Exactly. For me, there's absolutely nothing in "Issho Ni" that just ruins it, against all the odds. Again, I guess that that's largely because it's 1) instrumental, and 2) not guitar-driven.
Don Gilmore wasn't involved with the remix project; Shinoda was the executive producer. He's the one who had the idea for the album and what it would be, so he was responsible for coordinating the whole effort, curating all the material and filling in all the gaps that needed to be filled. As the credits tell us, he headed up several of the remixes personally, provided new lyrics, vocals and guitars for other people's reworkings, created all of the peripheral tracks such as the intermission to fill out the tracklist, and was heavily involved in the visual aspect of the album on top of that. All of this while Linkin Park were basically still on tour.
I seem to get a bit of an Aphex Twin (SAW era) vibe from this track too, which a refreshing sound coming from LP. The percussion in the track however proves it was Mike Shinoda who made it
