Okay, I'm not asking what LP songs have the best lyrics. Out of LP's discography, which songs do you think have interesting ideas or themes lyrically? For example, I really like Castle of Glass's soldier looking for redemption concept, robot boy, Until its gone's parent-children topic(again, not the lyrics).
I absolutely love the lyrical theme of Lost in the Echo. Of each word being "lost in the echo". It's a very figurative theme to convey a real concept. That's also why I like Castle of Glass' lyrics. It takes a figurative approach to a real-life situation.
Lately I've found The Catalyst truly nails the apocalyptic nature of the ends of the world. From the pleading, desperate people chanting for a higher power to either save or smite them, to the chorus where Chester beckons how all of humanity is crumbling. "Where oceans bleed into the sky" is a brilliant, vibrant, and haunting image.
Whereas you may not find any form of connection with them, doesn't mean other people can't have some kind of emotion and/or interpretation towards them... that's the way the cookie crumbles [/CookieReferences]
Not solid - no cookies. Next please. EDIT: Lol, just got what you meant. I couldn't care less about LITE's lyrics, which is why I don't feel like analyzing them for the Session thread. Hence, my request.
Seems pretty simple to me - it's all about being manipulated by someone but learning to finally let go rather than deal with the bullshit. It's about no longer being a victim and coming out as the bigger person. Of course then Mike throws in a helluvalot of swagger but whatever.
I love the phrase "Each word gets Lost in the Echo". I think overall the song is basically just letting someone go, who hasn't treated you right in some way. My favorite theme would probably be In the End, because who can't relate to trying hard, getting far, and it not mattering? I also really like Rebellion, the first time I heard it I thought it was really cool and fresh, as I haven't heard any songs that deal with the same message or much art in general that speak the way the chorus does. It's kind of hard to choose the "best" idea without the actual lyrics and delivery influencing the decision.
In my opinion, I love when Linkin park has lyrics and or a song relating to depression. For example songs that can relate are robot boy, my December, breaking the habit, In the end. All of those songs are so powerful to me, and probably powerful to everyone else. Even though Linkin park doesent write about depression that much, it's a great lyrical direction they could easily write about.
