The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies - 5.5/10 Garbage. Such a joke compared to The Lord of the Rings trilogy. This was the worst of the prequels, and that's saying something. Overall a poor effort by Jackson with this trilogy.
American Sniper (2014) - 2.5/5 The war scenes are what hold this movie together. Everything else, including the emotional beats, feel choppy and poorly written. It hits all your average war movie cliches with very little thought to pacing. The Imitation Game (2014) - 2.5/5 Your usual biopic. Cliched characters, dialogues and montage sequences. Cumberbatch was decent. Nothing mindblowing. All these British biopics seem to blend together after a while. This genre needs a true director to come in and shake things up.
big hero 6. the movie i never knew i had to see. a mix of dark and adorable. oh, and finally a movie that didn't have a ridiculous run-time. really enjoyed it. 9/10.
Seventh Son - 6/10 - Pretty ok but unoriginal movie, which is surprising since the talents behind this movie are great. Action scenes are solid.
I Am Number Four - 3/10 Such a great book but terrible movie. The movie hardly followed the book whatsoever and left out key details from the book.
The Guest - 8.5/10. Awesome. Stylish, badass, almost self-aware/tongue in cheek which is what makes it work so well.
Fury - 7/10 While it's an incredibly well shot movie, with a horrifying portrayal of war and great acting, the violence often doesn't feel as emotional heavy as it should (even though, like I mentioned earlier, the movie itself is already pretty fucking heavy). Many people die in this movie and more often than not, I don't feel the weight as much as I'd "want" to. The finale of the movie also feels a bit over the top (Boromir? Is that you?). But complaints aside, it's a memorable movie and it are these memorable (and imo most thought-provoking) moments that make the movie worth a watch, one of which is the mid-section of the movie (many people don't seem to like it but I really think it made sense). Definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it yet.

A really decent plot too. We really have too many engineers here and this movie raises a great point. It might be a commercial film but it was very tasteful. I didn't know the actress in this movie could even act but her role in this movie is very classy and respectable. The fighting scenes were fucking ridiculous though, the actor Dhanush is stick thin and there's no possible way he could hurt even one of those trained rowdies. But yeah, the movie had to have some of those. The ending was meh, it didn't feel like a climax and it ended so abruptly. Although, on the plus side, the movie had a really cool theme and the titular song was pretty nice. The rest of the music was boring though.
John Wick - 7.5/10 Infinitely better than The Equalizer. Glad to see Keanu back in a good movie being a badass.
I watched "Moon" the other day. It's one of those movies where you shouldn't read anything about it before you watch, so I went in blind, but, still, the premise turned out to be one that I had seen explored in films before. YEAH!
Stuff I've seen over the last few months: Alice In Wonderland 2.5/5 eh Hedwig and the Angry Inch 4.5/5 freaking amazing story and production. music is also great Chicago 4/5 easy to love movie with music to match that Les Miserable 4/5 amazing overall, music was okay. cast was brilliant, directing was great Under The Skin 2/5 shit even with Scarlett Johansson's boobs Big Hero 6 4/5 super fun and loveable movie The Interview 1/5 lame shit Sweeney Todd 5/5 really amazing directing and fantastic performance by all of the actors, great story Gone Girl 5/5 loved everything about the movie, the ending had me feeling eh but still worked well Frozen 3/5 do you wanna build a snow maaaaaaaaaaan
american sniper, 6/10. the life aquatic with steve zissou, 6/10 - "i wonder if he remembers me," the movie was good but damn that line was fucking killer.
Guardians Of The Galaxy 4/5 What to say... great movie. I mostly like everything about this movie, the action , the fantastic humour (so damn good stuff ) and the characters. Damn they all were great. Especially Groot One of the most mazing charakters in a movie i ever saw. Also if he couldnt speak that much The end scene was one of my favorite parts So so good. Cant wait for Guardians Of The Galaxy 2. Btw. It was the first time i watched a movie in our university cinema. Damn 4k video So good.
I saw Birdman again, this time in a movie theatre. And I like it even more than the first time. It's such a unique movie, like nothing I've seen before. And the dialogue and acting was great. Too bad it won't win Oscar for Best picture. Damn you Linklater, and your 12-year bullshieet!
