I know these threads are kinda overdone, but if you could create a 12 track CD, featuring songs from only ATS and THP, what would it be? An interlude goes with a track, so as an example, Fallout/The Catalyst would just be one track. For me, I think it'd be something like 1) The Requiem/The Radiance/Burning In The Skies 2) Robot Boy 3) Jornada/Waiting For The End 4) Guilty All The Same 5) Blackout 6) Rebellion 7) When They Come For Me 8) Drawbar/Final Masquerade 9) WJL/Iridescent 10) Mark The Graves 11) Fallout/The Catalyst 12) A Line In The Sand
You guys sure come off as wads sometimes. Lighten up. I think despite the two albums initially coming off as polar opposites that there's a potential for the band to eventually combine the two sides into one experimental, "electronic peppered" but ultimately organic, rock based album. Primo, the I'll Be Gone demo everyone ate up a few months ago, seemed to show off a more traditional but also experimental sound, and I think if they finally get whatever chip off their should that compels them to prove something each album they'll be able to combine the two sides into one, better whole. Until It's Gone wouldn't sound too out of place on ATS, anymore than Burning in the Skies would have. Blackout minus the keyboards plus a wall of powerchords could sneak onto Hunting Party without anyone batting an eye. I'll go the entire album; 1. Radience/Requiem 2. Keys to the Kingdom 3. Until It's Gone 4. When The Come for Me 5. War 6. Mark the Graves 7. Journada del Muerto 8. Waiting for the End 9. Rebellion 10. Guilty all the Same 11. The Catalyst 12. Final Masquerade A bit jarring because they were written years apart with deliberately different approach, but the styles and ultimate sound of them? Not out of the realm of possibility. Re-tool the songs to make them all have a more collective "feel" and that's a completely realistic -and good- album.
Sad that nobody else is doing this... Sure the albums might as well be from entirely different galaxies, but that's where the creativity shines through with how to link them together! THE HUNTING PARTY OF A THOUSAND SUNS The Requiem/The Radiance/Burning In The Skies Empty Spaces/When They Come For Me Keys To The Kingdom Rebellion The Summoning/War Jornada Del Muerto/Waiting For The End Blackout Mark The Graves Iridescent Drawbar/Final Masquerade Fallout/The Catalyst A Line In The Sand
01. The Requiem/The Radiance (Both would be 1 track) 02. Guilty All The Same 03. When They Come For Me 04. Drawbar 05. Final Masquerade 06. Waiting For The End 07. Keys To The Kingdom 08. Wretches And Kings 09. Burning In The Skies 10. Robot Boy 11. Wisdom, Justice And Love (Would be instrumental without the speech) 12. A Line In The Sand I would probably come up with a different name for The Requiem/The Radiance because it would be 1 track instead of 2 tracks like on ATS. I also love the speech in Wisdom, Justice And Love and I know it's a very important speech, but the piano that Mike (I'm assuming) is playing is probably the best piano bit I have ever heard from LP or most piano based music in general, it's so dark and haunting sounding and I think it would flow very well into ALITS.
