I didn't vote, but so far my ranking would be - GATS -> 8,5/10 - Wastelands (live version) -> 7/10 - UIG -> 6,5/10 My GATS opinion is unlikely to change anymore at this point. For UIG it might well. For Wastelands, it sure will. And by comparison, I'd rank my favorite songs on LT 7/10 and my least favorite near 3/10. So, at this point, THP is doing pretty good. But it still needs some "fucking amazing" songs to become my favorite LP record
I don't really see the point of having Wasteland here until it's properly released. The snippet and live recording are not good ways to judge the song.
I'm not sure I can decide which is best, but I can easily say that, of these three, Wastelands is shaping up to be the worst. I really hate it when artists mention John and/or Yoko in lyrics. I'm not even sure why it's such a popular thing to do. I also can't stand the melody in the chorus. It's seriously one of the most uninspired melodies I've ever heard. That coupled with mediocre lyrics, and you've got yourself a bad chorus. The instrumentals, however, are fantastic. I love the feel and the mood it brings, and Rob's drumming is still on point. If they had just rewritten that chorus a few more times, I'd've been able to get over the "John with no Yoko" line much easier and enjoyed the song one-hundred times more than I do now.
Nice man! I guess im in the minority. I think all songs are about a 10/10. Maybe not that high but sure close. This album has amazing songs to me so far. But Im glad you like it more than LT
I never rate any song 10/10 anyway, unless I'm stoned and the music makes me feel like I'm travelling the universe or something But yeah, way more fond of this new material than of LT so far!
Hey man I wouldn't talk about getting stoned, Linkin Park is infamous for taking away everyone's weed. #LinkinNark
Guilty All the Same gets my vote. It's just a great jam from beginning to end. Then I'd pick Wastelands and third Until It's Gone. I actually like them all which is such a great sign. I mean, in every LP album I find three or fours songs that are kinda 'meh' or that I just simply don't like. Based on the reviews, none of these songs appear as highlights so I am really excited about the rest of the album.
1- Guilty All The Same-------------------9/10 2- Until It's Gone------------------------8/10 3- Wastelands (bad quality live version)--7/10
Guilty All The Same for me. It might change once we hear the studio version of Wastelands though. Rakim's verse and the overall energy of GATS is just fantastic. Also love the long intro and the guitar solo at the end. Catches your attention from the beginning and just doesn't let up.
So far my rating is this: GATS - Hard to say... sometimes it feels like a 9/10 and other times 8,5/10 Wastelands - 7,5/10 - The rap verses are amazing and I love the groove but the structure and kind of familiar chorus brings it down a bit. Until It's Gone - 7,5/10 - This song has actually really grown on me. I can look past the lyrics and actually enjoy the different layers and atmosphere of this song. + I love the vocal performance(The live version is probably to blame)
Guilty All The Same - 4/5 A whoopin 6 minute track complete with an insane intro and outro. Not to mention, Rakim kills it on his verse. The song is so much fuckin' fun. The only downside is Chester's vocals, but his driven approach and heart pierces through regardless.
