I was plannin to join for, yeah, the presale tickets and stuff..but I can't stand those ppl who like LP just cause they're "LyK O Ma GOsH TheY'Re sO HOt"....trust me, i know alot of those ppl...so yeah it kinda bugs me that you don't have to be a 'dedicated' fan to join...etc..i hope you guys can see where i'm comin from on this...
I do see where you are coming from...I mean, it's fine to think they're hot, but you can't call yourself a hardcore fan when the only reason you like them is for their looks...it drives me crazy too.
That's a strange reason for joining if I've ever heard one. Welcome to the LPU!
my niece left LPU because of Somewhere I Belong video :chemist:
You're kidding! :wth: Well, that's just crazy...I wonder how many true fans are in the LPU...
If you mean fans of their looks... I'd say 70% of them . The other 25% are liars, and the 5% are true fans . :chemist:

Most probably true lol. Sad, but true
Indeed, sad but true. But I guess there isn't really much they can do to prevent the teenies from getting in...they spread like a virus... :chemist:
I joined mostly for the meet and greets, presales, and the shirt. Teenies don't bother me as long as I don't have to get anywhere near them. Of course, I get mistaken for a teenie a lot, so... *hides in shame*
LPU SUX, ok i go to sign in after 4 weeks, and to my surprise i dont get the "Need to recieve your payment before we can actavate your acount" mumbo jumbo, i get into the site, check up on the lpu shirts, and the video clips, posty on the forum, and then the next day i go to sign in again, and bam, it kicks me off and says the above, why, what they have my payment then lost it? this sux, 4 weeks, tuesday will make 5, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
We'll, if you had as many fans as them, you would probably get tired of doing it. They probably look at it as if only teenies want to take pictures with them, anyway. There is no room for mature discussion at the LPU. I never really thought them getting huge would be a problem for true fans to discuss their music, but that's what it's become. At the Underground, no one cares about how decent the lyrics are - but how they look in the videos.
QUOTE Wow. Then that kind of defeats the purpose of a meet and greet, don't it? I mean, part of a fan's pride is to meet their idol and be SEEN with them... The hell... . That is really stupid... Ergh. So fans are supposed to go like... "I TOOK A PICTURE OF THE BAND!" and then someone else can pull up one from the internet and say "SO DID I!!!" ... ? ... That's so disappointing.
We'll, if you had as many fans as them, you would probably get tired of doing it. They probably look at it as if only teenies want to take pictures with them, anyway. At the Underground, no one cares about how decent the lyrics are - but how they look in the videos. know what the problem is? well, i dont have any idea myself!!... (i'm not relatively connected to them!!) personally, i think (from my point of view) the problem (maybe) lays basically on the fan itself... it seems like the fan (on a larger scale, how to say it... globally!) don't really care about the music anymore (not "applicable" to the fan who cares more 'bout the music rather than the band)... well, this doesn't mean that this sort of fan dont like the songs... but it seems like they're more interested in the band itself...(personally or collectively, how can i tell?!!...) generally, i think, it's harder for the fan to discuss something that is not related directly to them... like, they don't really have the "direct consciousness" regarding the "sound-education" or how the music should sounds like... I dont have the ability to play an instrument myself, but what makes me attracted to the band is simply because they make an excellent mixes of sounds that is somewhat i can easily "consume"... i didn't even realized that scratch records sounds beautiful, so beautiful that Mr. Hahn makes u wanna eat them!!... i'd never like hip-hop, i think their "sounds" is ridiculous!!... but Mike has turn them into something that is pretty exciting to a "less-hip-hop-listener" like me... Eversince the band is being commercialized, the thing that really matters to the fan is the band... only the band! not the music!!... like, everyone has their own "version" of Mike, Chaz, Mr. Hahn, BBB, Phoenix or Rob... their own preferences of a band member... (i'm the fan, guess what?!...) i don't think it's "illegal"... this is only one part of the fan showing their dedication towards their favorite band... mature discussion can be reach if there are fans that are willing to contribute or develop informational ideas or discussion and having that "pinned-up the board"... (i dont know if this idioms is right!) above all, neither the fan nor the band should be blamed for "egoistic involvement" in the process... it's the magic of "marketing" that makes all these possible (only, eventually) for the band for becoming such an overnight success!... (and having their posters up the wall of every girls' bedroom... i mean, the radical one!) i'm not complaining, just reading... (duh)... err, sorry for the grammatical error and the comprehension...
