I've heard a shit rip on YouTube this morning twice, and was worried it isn't going to be good. BUT FUCK, ON HEADPHONES... And damn it, RAKIM!
I'm in love with the guitar bits in this song Yeah. Seeing how Mike said this song is sorta like a look into the DNA of the album, I cannot wait any longer!
Well, The Catalyst is my favorite song of all time, so I can't agree, but all the rest: YES. That chorus.
In terms of the influences of the song, there are some things that are definitely popping in my head. There is that almost power metal (or A7X if you want) riff going on. The bridge riff and the way Chester shouts in it makes me think of Metallica. Verses have some Thrice going on. And am I the only one who think of Muse during the building up leading to the chorus?
I'm sorry, but nothing in this song sounds remotely Power Metal. THIS, is power metal. Guilty All The Same, ISN'T.
well my veredict (i know nobody cares) GATS is an excellent song in its own and a missed oportunity to be LP greatest rock song (only if mike....) is like one ATS song but rockstyle i cant place it among my all time LP favorites because is so different from LP past work i believe this is it we are in the middle of LP career the priorities are different now is not about how you want to be anymore is about how you want to be remembered 9 And right now my number 1 of this new LP
Yeah of course the whole song doesn't belong to the genre, not saying that. But I kind of feel like I hear an influence. Maybe that's just me ahah
Imagine if we hadn't heard previous tracks from the Minutes to Midnight era. You could easily create a sick and raw sounding album just by throwing in Guilty all the same, No More Sorrow, QWERTY, Asbestos, Given Up, Bleed It Out, In Pieces, and hell even VICTIMIZED! That would have been my LP6 <3
