Brad Delson sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss The upcoming Music For Relief Philippines benefit concert co-headlined with The Offspring and Bad Religion. In the interview, Brad also confirms that the status of the new album is "nebulous," meaning the new album currently has an indistinct direction.

The whole interview can be read here.

The Music For Relief Benefit Concert for the Philippines takes place on January 11 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.

Ah! "Nebulous", "Early phase of everything", "still trying to get an initial inspiration".

I had called it, when there was that speculation about harder music  It seems like the guys don't have a precise direction at all for now.

"Nebulous"? WTF.. What does that even mean  .. I know what he's referring to but... I don't want vague responses xD.

Anyway, always props to the band for organizing events like this to support disaster relief efforts. They might not be releasing a song for Download to Donate but they are surely covering that up with many other things.

I also liked how RS called Linkin Park "leading philantropists in the music world", makes me proud :).

This is the second time Brad has referenced nebulous when speaking about the album. The first was much earlier this year.

Obviously, the new album will be called "Nebulous". :kappa:

Nice to hear from a different member of LP in an interview. The guys have gotten smarter to not give too much detail about the album, even if it is in its early stages.

I love how LP still isn't giving any information on how the album will sound like. I was expecting a heavier sound because of what Mike has been saying lately, but after this interview, I don't even know anymore. "Nebulous" is such an interesting word.

I don't think there was anything special on that word. I think Brad used "nebulous" to describe the process as "astray" or something along those lines. If one thing has been consistent (or emphasized) throughout interviews is the fact that their music behaves in a dynamic way, it could always change into something totally different and they never know if the songs they're currently working on will stay that way until they're final.

I think that's pretty much all there is to think there, I don't think Brad was being intentionally cryptic about it.

Okay, one thing's for sure: "nebulous" is the new "amorphous".

Clearly, Linkin Park know the power of buzzwords all too well.

So this, if I'm not mistaken, should mean they're playing it from beginning to end! Good.
