The only characters that I couldn't, at this point, see Walt killing are Walt Jr. and Holly. Everyone else would be fair game. Everyone.

I see a lot of Walt die-hards saying that he didn't really kill Jane. They'll come up with excuses for how Walt didn't really kill anyone, or they circumstances were ok, etc. He did kill Jane. He tipped her on her back, and when she started to choke, all he did was stand there and watch her choke on her own vomit and die. He could have done something to help, but he didn't want to. He was mad about what she was turning Jesse into, and he also thought Jesse would be dead if he continue to stay with her. He may have well been right, but it doesn't change the fact that he did nothing while watching her choke and die. Yes, she was a drug addict and you can argue that those are the consequences of heroin use, but still, it doesn't make it right. Sorry, but I don't agree with your post at all and I personally would like to see Jesse find out at some point, whether it may happen or not.

I don't remember Walt deliberately putting her on her back.

It's an interesting scene. You see him pause, just pondering the idea of saving her. His partner is threatening to quit, Jane is blackmailing him and knows crucial details that could fuck him, and they are both in junkie heaven with a pile of money. Once that money quickly runs out, if they're not dead, Jane can just blackmail Walt for more money. He needed her dead and this was just a minor miracle where he only needed to ignore her and she'd be gone. It's not murder, but it's still despicable. He wasn't left with any other viable options, though.

By coincidence/accident. The same way to leave a skateboard on the ground on the ground and someone runs in the room, trips on it, and slides out the window to their death was the same way as you "killing them". Standing there and watching her die might count as "letting her die", but not necessarily to Walt. Walt believing he deliberately killed her (instead of just standing there and watching it while not intervening) would need to work in order for it to be a plot point. As far as Walt knows, she was clearly going to puke at some point anyway, whether or not he shook Jesse and she limped on her back regardless, she was a junkie that died a junkie death.

In order for it to be brought up as a convincing plot device (especially for Walt to use it to taunt Jesse), he'd need to believe he did something to begin with that was any worse than not coming to help her when something happened that for all he knew was inevitable anyway.

No offense, but it always makes me laugh when I see Breaking Bad fans argue the semantics and technicalities of Jane's death.

If Walt hadn't shown up, she wouldn't have died. Period. Saying things like "well he only knocked her over on accident so he didn't actually play a role in killing her" or "she was gonna die anyway, if not that night then another night" just sounds silly.

Walt condemned her to death. He stood there and watched a young 20 something year old choke on her own vomit, and all he needed to do was roll her on her side. If he doesn't break into their room again, Jane just kind of throws up in her mouth/on Jesse's head. Debating why he did what he did is an interesting conversation to have, but suggesting Walt isn't responsible for Jane's death is just incorrect.

There's a difference between "playing a part in her death" and "killing her". And the difference is what makes it worth retreading in the show or not.

Vince said no loose ends will be left when the show ends. I think Jesse will find out about Jane at one point or another, maybe not. But still, I think Walt is to blame for her death.

EDIT: SPOILERS Tonight's episode was a bit slower like 'Buried' was IMO, but still good. It will set in motion things that will change drastically. I had a feeling Jesse would end up working with Hank (we knew from the spoiler pics this season). The most shocking part about tonight's episode was the very end, where Walt called Todd for ''one more job'' for his uncle. I have a feeling Walt is going to have Jesse killed, especially after Saul and Skyler both suggested it, he finally realized at the end that maybe he should.. Next week's episode will be great.

I love how the writers are taking the characters in very different directions in 5b. Walt is one of the only people on screen pushing for non-violent resolutions. Skyler is giving out kill orders and between this episode and Buried, it's almost like Skysenberg is the one calling the shots now. Hank is reverting back to his dickish ways instead of being the good cop. Jesse flipped and is ready to lash out.

No idea what's going on now. I need things to start happening or I'm going to start losing patience very quickly.

I do agree that things are moving very slowly. It seems like there was a lot of action somewhat in the last episode and Blood Money, but overall, nothing really BIG has happened yet, and we only have 4 episodes left now of the entire show. I suppose the final episodes are better than Dexter's final episode, though. I think next week with Tohajiilee, things will start moving finally. The way that Walt is almost annoyingly ''calm'' in the teaser video, indicates to me that something big will happen. I personally can't wait to see how the White's house becomes condemned and boarded up. I'm not much interested in Jesse, I think his character is getting boring and annoying. I'm more interested in what Walt is going to do, and how he ends up alone with a full head of hair and full beard, retrieving the ricin.

Gotta say, after the high of last episode this was a bit boring for me.

I don't wanna see Jesse help out Hank. That's wack! But I guess it has to happen for the show -_-

I hope Jesse turns around in the next couple of episodes. Although its more challenging tv to watch Jesse and Walt go head to head. He's the only guy who knows what Walt can really do.

With 4 episodes left I wonder where they will go with the fast-forward. I have a theory:

Maybe Walt will get Todd's uncle to fake-kill him and he'll go undercover. Then somehow it will pick up in the fast-forward.

Just saw this in another forum... Not exactly a spoiler but it dissects the title of the last episode "Felina":

    Fe-Iron-Blood
    Li-Lithium-Meth
    Na-Sodium-Tears

    Blood, Meth, and Tears

    Pretty goddamn clever!

I don't have any problems with the episode-by-episode pacing. I had always thought of Breaking Bad as more of a book rather than individual 45 minute pieces. Each episode is setting up the next piece. What some may call slow, I'll call story building and setup. Meh.

Jesse isn't "helping out" Hank. They're both going after Walt, yes, but Jesse is going to go after Walt on his own terms, not on what Hank has to say.

A bit out there invisitheory.. I... think Jesse will target Walt Jr. I just have a bad feeling he will. I don't know if he'll actually do anything to him, but I think he'll try. Hell, Jesse may even be the way that Jr. finds out about the "other" family business.

It just seems so dumb to have Jesse helping the DEA!!!! After the badass he was becoming under Gus (What kind of man talks to the DEA? No man. No man at all) and Mike at the end of season 4, you could see he was applying himself (Walt's favorite line) and he was becoming smarter and more suave. Then he all of a sudden turns into a little bitch, then seemingly is going to go super saiyan on Mr. White, then psych, he's still a little bitch who's going to use the help of Hank, of all people, to try and bring Heisenberg down.

I still trust the writers and have no doubt that after it's all said and done it's going to be a wonderful story, but it just makes no sense right now. Last episode seemed like it had multiple near deus ex machinas to move the story along.

We need to catch up to the flash forwards pronto. There is no suspense in these showdown episodes because we already know that Hank and Jesse don't succeed in bringing Walt down. The only suspense is in the details. The story needs to move forward quickly from here on out or it will feel stagnant I think. We need to know how they fail and we need to catch up to the flash forwards and go from there with at least a full episode left, maybe even 2.

There's also some cool things going on with the characters this season. I'll just copy a post from IMDb to save my time.

    And another good dynamic:

So while an episode like this can be considered slow or filler, it's still developing the characters in a very compelling way. It's so tough to catch though that I end up missing most of the intent on first watch. I'm too caught up in the main story to see.

I can completely see how Jesse is helping the DEA out but right now it doesn't make for good tv. Walt and Jesse were bosom buddies since day one, even thru all their troubles they came out the other side as being a team. But now seeing that get completely decimated seems very out of place and odd.

And travz I don't think Jesse is being a little bitch here. After everything Walt has done to him anyone would flip. The biggest difference between them is that Jesse has a conscience and Walt doesn't. I think everyone saw this coming for a while. Mind you, he still doesn't know about Jane's death.

For now. I think he'll be going after Walt regardless of the cost.

Breaking Bad is good television, therefore everything that happens in Breaking Bad is good television. Haha. Whilst they were buddies for almost all of the series, that shouldn't be affected by whether or not it would make good television, because the story is the most important thing here.

Walt has a conscience, he's just not a whiny little bitch about it.

Jesse teaming up with the DEA goes entirely against the character that we've know for 5 seasons. But I'm confident in the writers and I'm hoping it's really not as stupid as it appears right now.

It's perfectly in line with Jesse's character. He's an immature, emotional, impulsive drug addict. He was also very clearly blitzed on meth (it kind of looked like he was snorting it in the car before he tried to burn Walt's house down, but I'd have to rewatch the scene to be sure). The mania, the rapid jaw movement -- typical tweaker stuff. Plus, high or not, he very nearly killed Walt over the same issue in season 4, so I don't know why it's so shocking to see him do something extreme to try and stop Walt when he finds out that not only did Walt poison Brock, but Walt manipulated him every step of the way. If anything would be Jesse's logical breaking point, this is it. I doubt he really wants to work with the DEA to take Walt down, but he didn't exactly want to shoot Gayle in the head either.
