It's about time Walt just starts owning everybody. That confession tape was brilliant. Jesse is soon to be fucked. I still think Todd is going to get caught and all those fuckers will have to be dealt with. I'm glad the shit has finally hit the fan full blast. 5 more episodes of shit fanning.

Walter White, professional liar. I was sooooo happy Jesse finally called him out on his faux-sympathy. But yeah, poor Jesse.. I know it's coming for him, and I'm rooting for him regardless , but it won't end well.

Jack and Todd and co. can handle themselves, but the blood on the boot is a nice little detail. They're sloppy. Of course you can also tell that they're not that careful by casually having a conversation about the train heist and wiping out Declan and his men in a diner. That's contrasted nicely later by Walt and Skyler and Hank and Marie calmly "discussing" things in public, albeit in public for very different reasons.

Oh God what a brilliant episode! My favorite one so far. Shit is really hitting the fan now... last episode was a bit more subdued but this sure fires in all cylinders! Walt's confession tape left my jaw hanging! The way he lies makes him even scarier and you can't really ever read him.

Btw can someone explain the Jesse cigarette packet/ricin thing? I didn't quite get what happened there.

    Well...

when Jesse was leaving Saul's office Huell pickpockets Jesse's pot. If you rewatch the scene you can catch him doing it right when he says "'scuse me" and then makes eye-contact with Saul, and Saul nods.

When Jesse finds that Huell took his pot he pieces together that Huell also managed to.. swap the pack of smokes?

In episode 412 it's fairly easy to see that he does snag the ricin pack, as after the frisking he does quickly put something in his pocket, much like in the latest episode. He did give him quite the frisking in 412, but it was also a bit frantic.

Was it really enough to remove Jesse's smokes and plant in a new pack? This is where poetic license can take over. Bottom line is that Jesse finally figured it out with the removal of his weed and revelation of seeing a pack of cigarettes post-Huell frisk.

I'm going to go back to Season 4 for a bit more clarity though, so I'll edit and add soon enough.

EDIT: Annnnnd the edit is in.

Last night's episode was one of the top-3 in the entire series for me. So much shit hitting the fan. Amazing. Can't wait to watch again.

Agreed! Jesse's moment of clarity was brilliant acting. I have a feeling this show will not end peacefully. A war is about to rage between Walt and Jesse and blood will be shed. I guarantee it!

I have a theory for the next episode or two based on the title of 5.12:

the next episode is called “Rabid Dog,” which is a reference to the episode “Problem Dog.” In that episode, Jesse confesses to his group counseling people that he murdered Gale by saying he “killed a dog.”

I think Jesse will go back to the group therapy one last time. he will apologize to the therapist for the way they left things last time. he was always a father figure for Jesse when Walt couldn’t be. I think he will tell everyone that he “got a new dog,” and that the dog recently became rabid and bit a child (Brock). the child lived, but how can you let a rabid, child-biting dog roam free? maybe he’ll get emotional because of what the dog has become, the dog that he has been through so much with. then the therapist may tell him that, even though it’s hard, sometimes you have to let go of things and do what needs to be done. whether that be putting the dog down, or calling animal control (Hank).

but Walt will be one step ahead of Jesse and ending up killing him first, and burying him at Tohajiilee.

Damn, this show never ceases to amaze me. Fricking awesome Episode. All the pieces falling into place, the Confession Tape, the Meetup with Hank and Marie. This was firing on all cylinders, can`t wait for the next one. The title "Rabid Dog" seems to be connected somehow to the Episode "Problem Dog". Maybe we will see Jesse with his counseling group again?

    In response to Xero21:

I really hope that Jesse isn't going to be killed the next episode, or even for quite a while. Jesse is kind of the white knight in the show and one of the few remaining characters who still are holding on to their morals and beliefs. Jesse has lost so much as a result of Walt, and deserves to get his peace or even his revenge. He's seen through Walt's lies and knows that it's up to him to bring him down because nobody else is going to. Almost every single character (even Skylar) has sacrificed their morality as a result of their interactions with Walt, or have given up their fight against him to protect themselves. Skylar wanted Walt away from the kids, but when she became too involved with his criminal activities to be found innocent, she became complicit and started to cover up his tracks...lying about how he got the money, and even going as far as to hide his cash in a storage unit. Hank and Marie were determined to make Walt and Skylar pay with jail time, but ultimately were forced to rethink their actions when Walt showed them the video...linking Hank to Walt via the $177,000 in medical bills via a very believable confession.

Going back to Jesse though? Jesse has nothing left to lose and nobody to answer to. He's lost everyone he's cared about, and his family isn't even a part of his life anymore. Walt took everything away everything Jesse ever cared for, and now that Jesse has snapped, he's dangerous and unpredictable. Walt may be smart, or even one step ahead of Jesse...but Jesse isn't as stupid as he comes off. I have a feeling we're due a very epic showdown very soon.

Hell, I don't know what will happen between now and the end of the show, but one thing is for certain: The White residence will be vacated, the general public will soon know who Walter White really was (as evidenced by the neighbor looking at Walt in horror), and Walt will change his identity...returning to the White residence to pick up the ricin. Who is he going to poison? Himself? Jesse?

    This should be good.

I have some ideas on things.. I definitely agree with what Derek wrote above about Jesse. We know the White household will be abandoned and boarded up. However, I think the ''disappearing guy'' will show up once again; for Walt. Vince wouldn't have mentioned the disappearing guy AGAIN after he did in Season 4. I think Walt will use him. I think Walt may flee to New Hampshire, considering he had a New Hampshire license and license plates on a car, not to mention one of the upcoming episodes is entitled Granite State, which is New Hampshire. It's also obvious a considerable amount of time has passed with the way that Walt looks in appearance in the two flash-fowards so far. The question is, what happens to his family (Skyler, Walter Jr and Holly) and Jesse? We know he is alone, he is alone both times in the fast foward, one on his birthday. Then there is the whole thing how Walt picks on traits of people he has killed or he feels guilty for. I think something bad will happen to Skyler and/or his family in these final episodes... He was arranging the bacon like she used to on his b-days, plus he used her maiden name on his fake ID. Got to me something. I have a feeling this show is about to become 10x darker very soon.

You do realize that that wasen't a "real" hug right? That was just Walt manupulating Jesse.

I thought it was Walt basically admitting Jesse was right and he needs to GTFO of town

The way I see it, Walt was trying to win over Jesse and get him out of town so he won't confess to Hank, just like what he did with telling Jr. he has cancer.

    ***Theory***

I seems to me that Jesse has many lives, each time he tries to break away from the previous one completely Walt pulls him back in in some way or another. With Jane, under the Wing of Mike, his life with Andrea, and now most recently a very new life in the most literal of possibility. Walt pulls him back once again, only this time he doesn't do it deliberately and it is a reaction to his past manipulation of Jesse. Jesse is completely broken now, and it makes me think that he is down to his bare essentials. I at first thought that it symbolized a cat with nine lives with the last soon running out, but now that I think on it, Jesse's brokenness is more similar to dust, and ashes and instead of dying for the final time instead he will rise from the ashes anew and more magnificent than ever before, to do this he'll have to team with Hank and bring down Walt. In conclusion I believe Jesse symbolizes a phoenix.

    *** END THEORY ***

@ DEREK I say opting to burn a house down, not knowing how many people are in it, or if kids are in there is a pretty good blow to Jesse's morality.
