Linkin Park's next stop on their tour through Asia was earlier tonight in the city of Lantau, Hong Kong. Before the concert the band put off their 9th ever LPU Summit at the AsiaWorld-Arena, where they held a meet-and-greet, backstage tour and private concert for lucky LPUnderground members. From all accounts on Twitter, summit attendees had a blast, and were treated to rehearsals of "VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY)", "The Catalyst" and the beginning to "In The End". Tonight's concert was just the fourth visit to Hong Kong by Linkin Park and fans were treated to a setlist very similar to what fans in the Phillippines enjoyed two days earlier, with the only differences being the swapping out of "A Place For My Head" and "Lying For You" for "The Catalyst" and "VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY)" and juggling of the setlist order: 1. Its good to see VICTIMIZED/QWERTY back to the set in HK.. Hoping for more LIVING THINGS songs to be played but i think its not happening anymore...
I was there that day, and was lucky to win the raffle to have a backstage tour with Mike and Phoenix! We also met Chester, Brad, and Joe in their room and had a fun chat! I cannot express how happy I was to stand right next to them and talked to them. During Rehearsal, Mike even came down to the barricade and took pictures of my Summit Pass and Summit T-shirt (see his instagram, it was MY pass and shirt, fricken awesome!!!) All the guys were really down to earth (well, brad was more of a private person but still friendly) especially Mike and Chester, just really really nice guys to hang out with. They shared funny stories, told us about their shows in Japan and more! I am really busy these few days but hopefully I can find time to write my review and post some exclusive videos for the LPA BEST DAY OF MY LIFE PS: Mark, can I open a separate thread to write my reviews? since it will be quite long and will contain quite a lot of footages.
Seriously guys? These guys are going to be 40 in a few years. And they still look very good, much much better than their peers. And Chester looking old in the second pic? I wouldn't give him more than 30, let alone 37. They look and sound great.
No there wasn't (sadly), but at least we got a somewhat improvised outro of The Catalyst with Mike and Rob which was pretty cool.
Setlist was disappointing but I hope people liked the show. Remember when Chester and Mike had the colored hair thing going on. I think Brad is perhaps the only one who has not aged one tiny bit.
The list is missing something, like the Until It Breaks intro before Waiting For The End, Reading My Eyes bridge in Bleed It Out. And ya, the show was still awesome so no worries =)
