I actually watched AFI on MTV's Hard Rock Live. They were a lot better than they were on the KROQ show. But then again, it was probably studio magic that made them sound good.
and some good editing to get the show under 30 minutes

WTF? even though this is your opinion and i respect it, wtf? have you ever heard or seen a full concert live, recently theyve been paying 30+ songs in there sets, and have the best live act in the world, they win their fans by their live sound, it sounds better than the actual songs, NO-ONE can say limpbizkit have a bad live set truely, u can say it if u dont like them, but it isnt true, im a huge linkin park fan, and after live in texas i find them astonishing live, but they will never reach the actmosphere of a limpbizkit concert, and that cant be argued
you should relax

Like I'm really going to trust MTV. They're like a really bad parent. They favor some bands over others.

Look at MTV's sister station, VH1. They picked their favorite band, Matchbox 20, for the Best Video Of 2003 over people like Johnny Cash. I think the Dead Kennedys said it best..

Hoobastank and Story of the Year sound awesome live! P.O.D. was okay but probably it was cuz I couldn't hear Sonny sing too clearly. Linkin Park is the best live though!

Good:
Linkin Park - obvious
Memento - lead singer will do anything to get the crowd involved
Disturbed - so much energy
Manson - just amazing to see how religiously people follow
(hed) P.E. - hardest times i've ever moshed in my life haha
Matchbook Romance - tons of energy
Bowling For Soup - funny funny guys & they do awesome covers
AFI - davey has this aura that draws ya to 'em
Mudvayne - all i can say is wow
Powerman 5000 - same as Mudvayne

Bad:
Chevelle - boring
Incubus - as much as i love their stuff, i just wasn't feeling their live show.... little too relaxing... i felt stoned and it was all natural... lol

i have a feeling when i see yellowcard, coheed and cambria, and brand new one of these days, they will be added to the list of greatness. B)
