What are your favorite moment on LT? Mine are: •Mike's last verse in LITE till the end. It just seems like he should be running through everyone and having a light shine on him and him being awesome. It just feel B.A. •Roads Untraveled (full song). This song is probably one of my favorite LP songs ever. From the "who-o's" to the guitar solo to the haunting piano, it gives me goosebumps every time and sometimes makes me shed a tear. •Chester's last verse in powerless (the loudest one). It just fells right. The first two verses have been restrained and hurtful and confused and now it's all let out in one last burst of energy that the whole song was leading up to. I really love LT. It is what got me into the band! Now I cant wait for more
This thread's gonna get a little too broad if people are just gonna be listening full songs ... Anyway, my favourite moments on "Living Things" are: the intros in the first two or three songs. I know that some say they all sound fairly similar, that might be a part of it ... the beat throughout "Lies Greed Misery" everything except the bridge in "I'll Be Gone" most or all of "Castle Of Glass" and "Powerless" because I can't quite pinpoint the things I don't like about those songs anymore all of "Victimized", "Until It Breaks", "Roads Untraveled" and "Tinfoil" because they're all perfect to me
Mike's third verse in LITE, gets me pumped as shit Brad's part of UIB, it's hauntingly beautiful All of Powerless, I love the shit out of this song
-The intro for LITE. Gets me pumped and is an awesome album opener. -In My Remains. This song, even though only a year old, has aged well for me. -Lies Greed Misery. That is all. -Castle of Glass is in a category by itself, as well. -Mike's verses in Victimized are great. -The "Ahhhh's" in Skin to Bone really give it a dark feeling. Highlight right there. -Chester's small part in UIB. Reminiscent of his small parts in High Voltage and WTCFM. Everything else either gets lost in mediocrity or is just alright. Depends on the mood.
-All of LITE. -The cadence of the pre-chorus in IMR. The Chorus of IMR. -The synth work in BID. -The glitches in LGM. -All of IBG. -The guitar in the intro of COG. -The "No Regrets" part in Victimized. -All of RU. -The tone of STB -Mike's verses, especially the last one of UIB. -The familiar ATS feeling of Tinfoil/Powerless. - CAPS LOCK!
And I thought I was the only one who liked Brad's part! Well. I loved the 3rd verse in LITE, Mike's just raging there. ALL of IMR, it could be my favorite in the whole album. BID's chorus (flame me, lol), impressibly, the song to me is as young as it was on release date. LGM's verses, dat beat. IBG's chorus, this is actually my 2nd favorite song to sing over the instrumental. COG.. It's COG. Victimized's drums. RU's harmonized "oohs", sometimes I sing the low, sometimes the high, and sometimes both, it's fun to sing along with. All of STB, it's so awesome it's too short for me. I WANT MOAR. Last verse on UIB T+POWERLESS. I LOVE to sing over the instrumental to this song, and the original is amazing, of course.
The Intro to LITE - it's an incredible build-up that could be compared to the band's all-time classics. Chester's screaming - between LITE, LGM and Victimized I was absolutely impressed the man can still belt it out like a boss. Especially since it's the most screaming he's done on an album arguably since Meteora. LGM - the most enjoyable all-around song the band has made since Bleed It Out. No matter what the situation I can adore this song. 1st verse of Castle of Glass - it feels like such an epic opening, like something HUGE is going to come out of the song. Unfortunately it doesn't evolve much past that. Victimized - all of it. Roads Untraveled - the simplicity of the song is what sets it apart. That and the incredibly intimate lyrics that transcend most "I hate you/politics/the world/myself" lyrics the band has made. Powerless - it takes everything the band has learned from previous ballads and makes a beautiful song
Well, LITE, intro + bridge + ending Lies Greed Misey, all of it Castle Of Glass, instrumental + first verse Victimized, second verse + "bridge" (the moment Chester is doing his last scream) Skin To Bones, beginning of second verse (when the instrumental changes a lot for a couple of seconds) + chorus Tinfoil/Powerless, instrumental
The feel to Castle of Glass All the rap verses of .Until It Breaks. It is the most badass I've heard from Mike since I Have Not Begun Roads Untraveled in its entirety The electro-folk feel to Skin To Bone Mike's verse in In My Remains
Castle Of Glass, it's first verse to be precise. Until It Breaks, all of it. That's the same with LGM. The intro and final verse of LITE. IMR is a really underrated song, it's actually really good. IBG, classic LP. The last 3 songs on the album.
The freeze frame in Burn it Down's music video is the most awesome shit I have ever seen!!!!111!! Especially Brad's part.
- "I can't be mapped, I can't be cloned. I can't C-flat, it ain't my tone." in LOST IN THE ECHO - "You can tell 'em all now, I'll don't back up, I don't back down. I don't fold up and I don't bow. I won't roll over, don't know how. I don't care where the enemies are, can't be stopped, all I know: go hard, won't forget how I got this far, and every time saying..." in LOST IN THE ECHO. - "Like an army, falling, one by one by one" and the background vocals ("one by one, one by one, one by one by one") in the final chorus of IN MY REMAINS. - Electronic intros to LOST IN THE ECHO, IN MY REMAINS, I'LL BE GONE and SKIN TO BONE. - Mike's rap bridge in BURN IT DOWN - Guitar solo in CASTLE OF GLASS - "Take me down to the riverbend" in CASTLE OF GLASS - "May your love never end, and if you need a friend, there's a seat here alongside me." in ROADS UNTRAVELED - The final "powerless!" in POWERLESS.
- Bridge and final chorus of In My Remains - The way Mike's "one by one" matches with gang vocals in the background - Second and last chorus of Castle of Glass - Intro, outro and choruses of Victimized - "As the starlight fades away..." I love that line and also instrumental part behind it - "Cause the love that you lost, wasn't worth what it caused" - best line on entire record IMO - second chorus till the end of Powerless. pure epicness.
