In terms of unpopular opinions that I actually HAVE...

-Linkin Park SHOULD play a lot of their hit singles in their live shows, because those songs are the ones that get the greatest crowd reactions. If they actually played some of the "fantasy setlists" I've seen fanboys come up with, their live shows would get a TERRIBLE reception from the majority of the crowd.
-A Thousand Suns is Linkin Park's best album.
-At this stage of their career, Linkin Park is better off renewing their contract with Warner (or signing a contract with one of the other major labels) than staking it out on their own.
-Chester Bennington's voice has been constantly deteriorating since 2007.
-Choosing to make Rick Rubin their go-to producer for Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns was one of the best decisions the band has ever made. However, I don't think they really need him anymore and could just as easily self-produce their work at this point.
-Meteora was a complete waste of an album. The handful of decent tracks on it should have been an LPU CD, and they should have made an album like Minutes to Midnight about 3 years sooner than they did.

    - Linkin Park did only make one great album and that's Hybrid Theory.
    - Yes, of course Empty spaces is a real song. (my personal favorite)

I got one that nobody's going to take seriously; Hybrid Theory is overrated, and in parts actually kind of seriously sucks.

In most cases, opinions like '[Insert album name] is overrated" are unpopular to those who like the record.

A Thousand Suns is the best of Linkin Park's records.
LIVING THINGS was not very good at all and very forgettable.
I think Meteora is better than Hybrid Theory.
Linkin Park is not a very good live band at all - Chester cannot create the voice he has in the studio.
Brad is terrible at soloing on the guitar live, and has failed to impress me on the guitar.
Linkin Park's lyrics, for the most part, are bad.
Fort Minor was not that good.
Dead By Sunrise had a few good songs but overall was bad.
All of the demos of Linkin Park's songs off of Hybrid Theory are better than the album versions.
Joe Hahn's role in the band is largely useless.
Mike Shinoda's rap verses have deteriorated over time.

I think the most interesting opinion I've seen so far is ^ Louis and Spitz both saying they like Meteora better than Hybrid Theory.

I like listening to Meteora more than Hybrid Theory. That makes three. I like HT though too.

    - A Thousand Suns is not their best album. It is, however their most ambitious and creative effort.
    - Meteora is underrated on this site.
    - Mike's rapping is quite bad now.
    - Hahn's directing is getting old and boring. And I don't think he's good enough to direct a movie.
    - Living Things is a great album.

Actually it's very true. I especially hate how Mike is hogging the damn guitar. I don't wanna have to see brad pushing fucking buttons for LIES GREED MISERY

I second this. The album isn't terrible and its very good for live usage (tracks like With You, Papercut and APFMH), but the praise it receives is too grand for its own good. I don't understand how so much of the Linkin Park fan base is craving a redundant genre that went out of style years ago. The music they make today IS Linkin Park so they need to get used to it and there is no doubt that going back and sticking to Nu-metal would screw them over financially. And as an added note, One Step Closer and In The End fucking suck. Absolute garbage tracks that are loved and considered their best, I mean what the actual fuck...

Could not agree more. I was gonna use this example but I was afraid of the ''That's just one song...'' comments.

Linkin Park has a terrible fanbase. It consists of either people who want them to do heavy and angsty nu metal again (aka Youtube commenters), or people who hate everything LP has done except A Thousand Suns (aka this forum, pretty much). It's just gets annoying to participate in this fanbase because everyone is bitching about something.

It's freakin impossible for me to find LP fans who think how I do and just kind of like everything the band has done. Of course I like some albums more than others, but I can listen to both A Thousand Suns and lose myself in the incredible soundscape of that album, AND just turn off my brain for 30 minutes and rock out to Meteora. Just because I can appreciate a really well thought out album like ATS doesn't mean I can't go back and listen to a brainless teenage angst album like Meteora.

Necessary? That's fine you dislike those tracks, and that's also fine I love them.

You're not the only one. I can enjoy Meteora and ATS and I'm aware of at least 3 or 4 other members of this forum who think that way. Don't generalize like this :)

Anyway, back to the subject, some unpopular opinions of mine:

    - nu-metal was a fun and enjoyable genre
    - MTM could have been way better with the addition of its b-sides in replacement to some actual tracks on the record
    - guitar wise, Living Things was bad; LP should either focus more on their guitar parts and make them more original, or totally stop using them

I am also in your group dude. You literally spoke my mind out.I love LPA but really hate the fact that most of the members here leave no stone unturned to show their hate on Meteora ..Come on Man,If you have grown up then it doesn't mean that all have grown up..Some people here are still in their teens and to them,Meteora speaks a lot just like it did to you when you were young.SO please stop hating on it..

I actually have a lot of unpopular LP opinions, some being LPA standards.

    - I don't get sick of "In the End" being played in concerts. It's one of the best tracks of Road to Revolution, to be honest.
    - I still think "Crawling" sounds good live in some concerts.
    - Meteora isn't entirely bad.
    - I don't really like Live in Texas.
    - In Collision Course, Jay-Z>>>>>>LP.
    - 1Stp Klosr had to grow on me.
    - LP was never pop, but they always had a pop vibe in their songs, whether it be "In the End" or "Faint" or "Bleed It Out"
    - Lies Greed Misery is one of LT's best songs.
    - What I've Done is one of the band's best songs.
    - The Catalyst was what got me into the band in the first place.
    - Brad Delson = second-rate guitarist. Sad but true.
    - I don't like A Place for My Head. At all. Nuh-uh.
