Good point, they have to understand the mindset behind each genre, not just a case of copy and pasting. I've been excited for more reggae stuff, In Pieces and Waiting For The End are two of my favoirites.
Black metal. Lol just kidding I want them to mess with more of a classic hip-hop sound. I think this somewhat coincides with the people voting for a reanimation 2, however, it would require a more organic sound.
So long as its experimental. But I'd love for LP to go darker this time. "The Requiem" was a step in the right direction. and i know their good at it (gifted in fact) but it would be refreshing to see them not write any more poppy/radio friendly songs. That might be hard, but thats exactly why they should do it!
I have to agree. I still remember the moment I first heard "The Requiem" and figured the album was going to be MUCH darker than it actually was. I love A Thousand Suns but I still think "what if" every time I start the album and the haunting theme comes on. I also want them to bring the strings back to the forefront. Red was a band that greatly admired Linkin Park and was inspired by their work. It's impossible not to acknowledge the inspiration in Red's early albums. It's interesting now though how their latest album "Release the Panic" uses strings better than Linkin Park ever has IMO.
I'm ready for a little bit of more heavier rock. Victimized only made my appetite worse haha. Then they bring out Victimized/QWERTY and that was perfect. Not every song has to be screaming and all that. I just like the energy Living Things brought back. ATS made everything seem mellow, especially live shows. So I guess I'll just choose rock!
Actually I don't really care what genre because I mostly love them all! But if I could choose I'd say they should be a little heavier like they were at the beginning. If the next album was like A Thousand Suns I would be pretty happy too.
